Easy to use and works very well on any game. Call Graph - Back-up skype call recorder in case of disaster. Camtasia | Hypercam 2 - Screencap software (hypercam 2 is free now, but read carefully on install). Lagarith Codec - A nice lossless codec SCFH DSF - Good screencap app, works with virtualdub's capture mode. I've heard that one mentioned actually but hopefully it was a joke. Because some jerks raced Link to the Past for five hours, it opened up the doors for all kinds of awful ideas. We'll be doing some "Mystery Races" too, where no one knows what the game is until its time to start it up.

Woo, new race thread. For people new to the racing thread(s) I'm currently working on a highlights video of sorts of races from the previous thread to show the kind of stuff we've been doing. It's honestly some of the most fun I've had on SA since I registered and I hope we have a lot more dumb ideas ahead of us

My laptop ain't exactly a beastly machine so I'm not sure which games I can record exactly (Games from the early 90s are fine as well as emulators, I know that much) but I think I'll throw my hat into the ring! We joke about stupid games to race all the time but let's avoid racing games that are really long and repetitive by their nature like most RPGs. I don't think anyone wants to watch 4 people grind in Dragon Quest.

You know, I always loved the videos these racing threads produce and I love Mega Man X2, so I am up for some racing myself. Your skill at a game is irrelevant and usually pretty entertaining to watch in contrast to people who crush it in the same group. I'd rather you not keep a call going for hours if you aren't going to win, but it wouldn't be anything new if that ends up happening. By the way, you guys don't really need to post your timezones or availability. We're pretty laid back about getting groups together. You just want to get in the main channel on skype for discussion and as a sort of race hub. From there, if you want to race Megaman X2, we'll give you a link or invite to the MMX2 call. This way we can easily see who's signed up for MMX2 out of all the racers.
