Somewhere in East Tennessee Pat Summitt is going to sit outside on the porch of a big Tennessee farmhouse to watch the sun rise and read the morning paper. As she sips some coffee or perhaps sweet tea she'll open the sports section and read about the Big East collapsing and UConn's floundering to escape. A small smile will creep across her face and she'll give a satisfied nod. She won't quite be able to recall the reason, but she'll just know that the collapse of UConn's athletics program into some minor conference just feels right.

Declan MacManus posted:So can anyone give me a simple explanation of why the Catholic schools are leaving? The Big East doesn't really make any sense anymore. The schools have nothing in common in general, which would be fine if there was a bunch of football tv money to keep everyone happy. But it became apparent really fast that wasn't going to happen after RU and UL left.

The best part is OU's 3rd tier content is going to be in 80 million homes from the jump because FOX isn't holding out for AMC-level money from the cable companies like ESPN is for the LHN.
