There's also an IRC room @ #PAD on SynIRC

Puzzle & Dragons is a SOCIAL, FREENIUM game from JAPAN where you kill monsters, take their eggs, hatch them and fuse them to your other monsters, and then finally evolve them by jamming seeds and plants down their throat to create dragons. The main part of this game takes place on bejeweled style board except you can drag an orb to any location on the board while displacing orbs to create combos. Just watch it yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE9CP9Q07OU (Ignore the diagonal poo poo, it's a loving myth)

Intrigued? The puzzle part is pretty neat and centric and you NEED to get good at it later on but there's actually a huge non obvious hidden depth to this game. And that is the management. Once your training wheels are taken off the enemies start showing up with defenses in the thousands, can you hit you for thousands, and will probably appear in groups of three attacking you in the same turn. A normal gamer would say this is a bullshit paywall and uninstall the app, which is the proper reaction for freenium games like these but there are actually many ways to get around these challenges outside of 'more numbers'. In the special limited time dungeons, where most of the good stuff in this game drops, what kind of team you go in with will decide whether or not you even have a chance of beating it before the match started.

And yes, there is IAP. No you do not need IAP but IAP will speed up the time it takes for you to progress.

Also the art is rad and there are cool looking dragons (and non dragons).

Strategy, Tips, FAQ

The five fundamental puzzle patterns

Memorize this and be able to recognize these patterns on the board. These are the basic 3-orb patterns that will pop up and you need to be able to quickly string them all together to create sick combos.

Which starter should I pick? Fire, water or wood?

Pick whichever you want. Pick the one you always or never take in pokémon. There are minor differences between them like the fire starter has a higher ATK(Attack), the green starter has a higher RCV(Recovery), and the blue starter is balanced between them but it really doesn't matter. Although fire teams are easier to create than water or wood teams.

How do I get magic stones?
:tenbux:
Otherwise, you get a magic stone for beating all the stages in a given dungeon. You also get magic stones for logging in x amount of days like 3 stones after playing for ten days and 5 stones after playing for thirty days. There are also special occasions where everybody gets a free magic stone from the devs.

How should I spend my magic stones? Should I replenish my st

NO. Unless you are a :thousandbux: player do not spend your stones on stamina refills. Yes, I know it takes ten minutes to get back one stamina. Yes I know you are puzzlin' for some drag'uns right now but chill out. This is a long term game with already enough content to fill 3 months+ even with iap usage. In the long term it is not worth wasting stones on stamina.

That said, there are four other uses for magic stone besides stamina refill:
1. 5 stones for a rare egg roll
2. Expand your monster boxes by 5
3. Expand your friends list
4. To continue a battle when you die

You should really be saving your stones for the rare egg pull and expand your boxes only ~as needed~. As needed means you have just enough space and then some for evo materials for the monsters you want to evolve. As for continuation, if you need to read this OP then you are not in a situation where you should use a magic stone to continue after dying and won't be for a long time.

My team sucks. I'm rank 40 and it takes me forever to kill things. Can you take a look at my team and tell me whats wrong?

Yeah, your team is trash. You got 90 monster boxes even though the only things of value on your team are your water starter and a lil black dragon. Also did you fuse/sell all your rare egg pulls or something?? You should reroll.

Since you're reading this OP I hope you wouldn't end up in that situation. I highly, highly recommend that if you find out that you really like this game and can see yourself playing for a long time to then 'reroll' until you have a good rare pull. Now what do people mean when they say reroll? We are saying that you should delete the app, reinstall it, and play through the tutorial again and see what you get with the free rare egg pull. Yeah it's tedious, watch a movie or a hockey game or something while you do it. Additionally, there's a way to get around the uninstall/reinstall: Android users can go into settings and clear the app data, and iOS users can connect their device to their computer and use iFunBox to delete data48.bin.

Some people will say you should reroll until you get a God type monster, others say 5 star monsters or even certain 4 stars monsters are good enough, ****I**** say you should reroll until you get certain God monsters. It depends on your tolerance and how much you are willing to keep rerolling to become the PADmon Master Nerd. For reference I'll include a three tiered list of monsters that are good to start with.

But first, what is God?

A God is just a monster type, like Healer and Dragon. But the big difference is that the majority of the gods in this game are only obtainable from either the rare egg machine OR as drops from master difficulty special event bosses. That means the only time you are guaranteed in getting a god is in the very beginning when you start the game. Gods aren't necessarily better than non gods, but alot of them have very useful or even unique active and/or leader skills that are desirable by everyone in the game. Alas not all gods are created equal which is why I suggest rerolling for certain gods.

So here is list of gods I recommend you reroll for:
Roman Gods: none
Japanese Gods: Viper Orochi, Amaterasu
Indian Gods: Shiva, Parvati
Norse Gods: none
Misc God: Green Odin
*Special Exception: Valkyrie, Great Valkyrie (can only be found in the rare egg machine and is used for unique and powerful healer teams)

I admit this is a very short list and your chances of getting one of these are microscopically small but this is the list if you want the best of the best of the best from the rare egg machine. Here are the rest that are good to start with:
Roman Gods: Venus, Neptune
Japanese Gods: Yomi
Indian Gods: Lakshmi, Vritia
Norse Gods: none
Extremely Hard to Obtain Orb Changers (These two are not gods but the only way to obtain them through farming is an extremely hard endgame dungeon. Plus orb changers are a premium): Cu Cthlainn, Siegfried

Due to popular demand and fickle RNG, here is the third list of monsters that are okay to start with. Just start with these if you just can not get any of the above but have a save data with one of these and you're tired of rerolling:
Roman Gods: Minerva, Ceres, Hades
Japanese Gods: none
Indian Gods: Indra
Norse Gods: Freyr, Isunn & Isunna, Freyja, Thor, Loki
Misc God: Blue Odin
Commonly Farmed Non Gods (These you can eventually get them easily some other way later on without the rare egg machine but they are all classified as super useful and everyone will want to be friends with you for them. For this category you are sacrificing getting a good monster for the long term over an easier, quicker start):
Siren the Enchanter, Ancient Dragon Knight

What are these Evo Material? Enhance Material??

Evo materials are monsters used for evolving your other monsters. Enhance materials are monsters who give alot of experience when fed to your monsters.

Help I'm broke. How come it is so expensive to power up/enhance my monsters?

You're broke because you're dum (and haven't read this OP). Monsters need more and more experience as they level while that flamie you are using to feed will always give the same amount of experience points. The idea is that you have to start feeding better monsters as your monster level or you will stay broke.

An early strategy once the monster you want to level is over 10 and up to the second set of normal dungeons is to feed your 'feeders' to evolved carbuncles, and then feed your carbuncles to your monster. Evolved knights are also accepted. Around 30 you want to switch to evolved pengdras. Colored Pengdras are found in the technical dungeons, which are unlocked after the Castle of Satan. They max at level 10 with exactly 2556 experience points and will give 9000 experience points when fed to a monster of the same color. But if you evolve them with 1 dragon plant and 2 same colored metallic dragon they will give 45k exp to a same color monster. However there are no pengdras for light and dark.

There are also special metallic dragon events that appears three times a day for an hour and are spaced five hours apart. They are super easy dungeons that cost 15/20 stamina and will give you a chance to get metallic dragons that can give 1500+, 15000+, or 75000+(!) experience points to the same color monsters. It's these same events where you will find the small metallic dragons to evolve the pengdras. Unless you got other more pressing needs for your stamina, I recommend you spend your stamina on these events when they appear.

Also if you haven't unlocked technical dungeons yet then don't stress yourself out too much trying to level up that sweet god you got from your first pull. You'll go broke and not have much to show for it.

Where do I farm xxx Evo Material?

Rubylit, Sapphilit, etc: Dungeon of Fire to Dungeon of Dark. I recommend doing it during a 1/2 stamina bonus.
Red Evolve Mask, Blue Evolve Mask, etc: Volcano of Vulcan to Pluto Valley.
Crimson Demon Mask, Indigo Demon Mask, etc: Fire Forest Nerva to Twin Temple Diana. I recommend doing it during a 1.5x item drop bonus.
Divine Carmine Mask, Divine Indigo Mask, etc: I recommend farming them in the second stage of the first set of the technical dungeons.
Keeper of Fire, Keeper of Light, etc: The red, blue and green keepers are the bosses of their level in the Tuesday Dungeons. The light and dark keeper are random encounters in the tuesday dungeons.
Dub-rubylit, Dub-sapphiiit, etc: Friday Dungeon on expert.

Dragon Seed: Thursday Dungeon. Otherwise Departure Tower.
Dragon Plant: Thursday Dungeon. Otherwise The Tower of Trials.
Dragon Flower: Thursday Dungeon. Otherwise Tower of Giants.
Dragon Fruit: Thursday Dungeon.

Where do I get the ~special~ evo materials?

Mythlit: He's the boss of the Friday dungeon on Adept. Otherwise he appears onwards from the fourth set of normal of dungeons and also in the technical dungeons.
Mystic Mask: Wednesday Dungeon on Expert.
Keeper of ~Rainbow~: He has his own special Tuesday Dungeon.
Dub-mythlit: Friday Dungeon on Expert.

Extremely valuable and farmable monsters

When you don't have anything better to do, I recommend you fill out your rosters by farming for one of these:

A Healer who at 5 stars will heal you every turn for three times their RCV as long as you matched an orb: Cupid(light), Dryad(wood), Mermaid(water). Cupid and Dryad at 5* will have an active skill that heals you for 10x team RCV. Mermaids have an active skill that will change fire orbs to heal orbs. The 5* Mermaids aka Siren the Enchanter are the choice healer of the three by the pros and so you are highly, highly recommended to get one, even if you got one of the other two already. Mermaid's active skill is also 'easily' leveled up by fusing the evolved water goblins to her. You can farm these in the second and third set of dungeons where they appear as bosses.

Naga, the fire 'Healer'. She has the valuable active skill 'Menace' which delays all enemy attack by 3 turns. Her leader skill is trash though. Like cupid/dryad/mermaid, naga is farmed in the second and third set of dungeons.

Succubus, the dark 'Healer'. She has the active skill 'Poison Mist' which is a key to dealing with gimmick monsters who have extremely high defense but low hp as it deals her ATK on every enemy for every turn until it dies. Her leader skill gives you more time to drag the orb around. Like the other four female healers, she is farmed in the second and third set of dungeons.

Vampire. He's a dark monster with a leader skill that 2x dark attacks and an active skill changes heal orbs to dark orbs. Orb changers are highly regarded in this game and the evolved vampire, Vampire Lord, is a key anchor in all dark teams. Their active skill is also 'easily' leveled using big baddies. They are an random encounters in the Castle of Satan. Farm for one during a 1.5x item bonus.

Titan. He has the leader skill 'Resolve' which allows you to survive with 1hp if you get killed while you have 70% hp or more, similar the one ogres all have. Note it only works once per turn so you will still die when fatally hit twice in the same turn. Their active skill changes heal orbs to fire orbs and are 'easily' leveled up by using the evolved fire goblins. Titans are farmable in the Tower of Giants and the Tower of Trials.

What is this about leveling your skill?

When you fuse a monster to your monster that both have the same skill, there is a supposedly 20% chance it will get a skill up. When you evolve it the skill levels will stay the same if the evolved form have the same skill. It does not matter when you are fusing whether you use one or five at the same time. Leveling your skill level reduces the active skill's cooldown by 1 turn per level.

I just got a lil dragon from the PAL machine. What are these? Are they any good? They don't even give good exp so should I just sell them?

Lil dragons start out at 2* but when they are evolved three times and into their 5* form their leader skill gives a 50% damage reduction to their color and their active skill is a 20000 colored nuke to all enemies. Their stats are also very good. In fact having a full squad of all five colors is recommended.

Friends? I don't need Friends! Friends, What is it good for?

Absolutely everything. Friends will be a key part of your team composition because your friend's leader skill will activate and in almost all cases, stack with your own leader skill. If you followed my advice to reroll until you got a kicking rad elite monster then everyone in the world will want to be your friend. In that situation you will have to be selective in choosing who are your friends (because you have limited friends slots). Don't just look at the attack stats but also their active skill, leader skill, hp and rcv. Note that you can't reuse a friend until they log back in. Another note, they have to first accept your friend request and be your friend before their leader skill will activate.

What is this gift trading people are talking about?

Once you hit rank 20 you can choose one friend to give a present to. You and your chosen friend will each get one of the three starter dragons or the equivalent light or dark dragon. The idea is to do this with someone who will also use their present on you so you will both have two chances. So just ask to gift trade with someone in this thread by posting your friend code (find it in Friend->ID Search). By the way there's no way to actually trade stuff between users.

I just got an egg with a big plus sign on it, what is this?

That means that monster has a stat bonus on one of their stat. You can see which one it is by looking at their stats; +1 in hp gives 5hp, +1 in atk gives +5atk, and +1 in rcv gives +3rcv. More importantly, you can transfer this stat bonus to one of your more useful monsters by fusing it to them. I recommend fusing your +1 hp bonuses to monsters you use the most. I recommend fusing your +1 atk bonuses to monsters who are part of your main attack team and/or has an active skill that is based off of their atk stat like dragons and poisoners. I recommend fusing your +1 rcv to your healer and if you have multiple, prioritize all of them to Amaterasu >>> Mermaid > Cupid/Dryad. The maximum +1 bonuses a monster can have is +99 to each stat to a total of +297. Note that fusing plus bonuses increases fusing costs dependent on how many pluses the monster you're fusing to already have.

I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know who or where I am. Please recommend me a team formation.

A good, classic, and basic team is a team of the same color where you and your friend's leader have a leader skill that boosts your color of choice's attack. Some sort of orb changer in these teams are a must at advance levels. Mystic knights, the orb changer who changes your color's weakness to your color (for example fire to wood) are farmable in expert and master levels of the special dungeons. The second type of orb changer is the Attack Stance orb changers who changes heal orbs to your color, and they are either very easy or hard to impossible to get depending on the color. Fire and dark (Titan and Vampire) can farm for theirs in the normal dungeons. Water and wood (Berserker and Highlander) are only farmable through an endgame dungeon. Light (Valkyrie) are currently only obtainable through rare egg pulls.

Another good basic team is basically just one that has either you or your friend's leader as one of the three 5* healer (Archangel, Siren the Enchanter, Alarune). Get some attacking power or maybe a leader with a 30/50% colored damage reduction and you'll be set for a good part of the early and middle game.

When do the metallic dragons appear? Is the time each day always the same?

1. Use this stylesheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...bGxYQTFUTUZEWFE
Edit your own id in to get the correct times.

or

2. Join the unofficial facebook group, http://www.facebook.com/groups/PADGlobal/, and look at their pinned post for the US dragon time tables. Now go to Friend->ID Search and look at your own ID. The third digit of your ID to the left tells you which 'group' you belong to. For example mine is 303,936,292, so I belong on the D group. Now that you know your group, look at the time table to see when dragons appear for you. The time may change from day to day so just check daily. Note that no matter what they always appear 5 hours apart for a total of 3 times daily.

What's the endgame?

Favorite all your important monsters

Go to monster box and favorite all the stuff you don't want to accidentally sell and fuse when you go drunk puzzle and dragoning. (Never drink and puzzle)

The timer doesn't not start ticking until you move an orb

Take your time to examine the board and plan out your point of attack and where to go from there.

Backup

Remember to back up your app data files, especially data48.bin. There is no login or anything so if you uninstall this game or wipe out your phone then you would not be able to access your old account anymore. iOS users should backup with itunes and use a 3rd party tool like iFunBox just to be safe. Android users should backup with a 3rd party tool like Titanium Backup.

The game is loving awesome. I have a game running on my iPad and my iPhone and I still want more.

The weekend dungeon starts here pretty soon and I'll be spending most of my STA doing those these weekend to build up my bank. Doing the adept will net you about 25k per run.

Edit: oh yeah and make sure you check the special dungeons for the metal dragon dungeons. Those bastards give poo poo loads of exp. I snagged a red king that gave 82k exp.

Thanks for the thread. I've got to level 15 or so with a Dark 5* Dragon but my team isn't great and after reading the OP I'm just going to reroll my arse off until I get something from your recommended list.

Cheers!

Friend code is 336 030 290

Edit: Sounds like this is the perfect time to do it with the event going on with a higher drop rate of "13 facebook favourites" of which I can see a few of the ones in the recommendation list.

Edit 2 : got very lucky, first five were 3* rubbish then a 4* Genie and the next one *bam* Neptune

My luck on pulling decent cards/whatever in these games and MMOs is normally far worse than the statistical average. Today however, I already mentioned I got Neptune on my 7th attempt at restarting.

Well I got the 5th egg, almost decided to spend it on monster box space but sold some green crap I won't use instead and went for it. Oh hello Shiva! Two 5* Gods in a row, I'm hosed from now on aren't I?

Of course I have nfc how I'm going to level this stuff up but drat! Lots of reading in my future to work out how to proceed, how healing works and how to get leader skills from both myself and partners/friends as atm I only seem to get my own.

What do you mean? If you're allies with someone then you automatically use their leader skill when you bring them into a dungeon with you. If they're not a friend but just an adventurer (5 friend points) then you don't get the leader skill.

There are three ways to heal: matching hearts, using an active skill, and leader skills that heal you on a match (which should be every turn) from Siren, Alraune, Angel, etc. The higher your monsters' recovery, the more you heal from each heart.

Also, the PD Database is just like the Japanese wiki, except prettier. The Chinese wiki is still the most useful though.

Aha, I hadn't appreciated the first part, must have missed that in my earlier read through. I didn't have anyone on my friends list at that point so no wonder I never saw the extra leader skill.

Gotcha on healing as well, I thought that healer types would heal whenever you matched their colour but again I was wrong!

Will pile through the entire Facebook guides page etc before asking anymore daft questions, thanks!

SNATTER'S ALIVE?!?!

Trying not to be the rank-40-and-my-team-is-trash guy. Right now I'm at Rank 53, at Polar Night Tower and Faithless Temple, and my Vaguely Interesting monsters are:

* Siren 5* (just evolved, need to try to raise her skill up before powerleveling)
* Echidna 5* (Fire, skill delays enemy attack)
* Pterados 5* (Light dragon, 2x Light attacks)
* D'Spinas 5*(Dark dragon, 2x Dark attacks)
* Volcano Dragon 4* (Fire dragon, Fire defensive skill)
* Gryps Rider 5* (Dark/Light, Light-Dark / Heal-Light transform)
* Titan 3* (Fire, Resolve)
* Shardran 4* (Water toy dragon, Fire/Water defensive skill)
* Fairlion 4* (Light toy dragon, Light/Wood defensive skill)

and a cast of thousands.

Using a 4x Dark approach for the most part, might shift Siren to the lead once she fully evolves and her healing ramps up.

There are also special metallic dragon events that appears three times a day for an hour and are spaced five hours apart.

Today is the one I need most, Sapphire. Are they at the same hours every time, and if so, what time does the next one start?

quote:

Sapphire Dragon Schedule ( 20 Stamina)
Check your 3rd digit on the left of your ID as it classifies which group you belong to
(A: 0,5) (B: 1,6) (C:2,7) (D:3,8) (E:4,9)
Sapphire Dragon Schedule as of 12/15/2012 PST
A: 8:00 13:00 18:00
B: 9:00 14:00 19:00
C: 10:00 15:00 20:00
D: 11:00 16:00 21:00
E: 12:00 17:00 22:00
*The above schedule might have discrepancies at border hours, the range is still being tested as in when the first time runs.
This means you check your ID to see what group you are and then convert those time to your timezone. For example I'm in group D so I ~should~ have it appear for me at 9AM, 2PM and 7PM.

SNATTER'S ALIVE?!?!

That works, I'm Group B, which means I should have one run at 5PM and two at 10PM without using stones to refresh stamina, and as previously noted doing so would be a Bad Thing.

Do any of the wikis have a list of what stage bosses can potentially drop which rares? Some are obvious (Voice of the Siren can drop Mermaids, and the third tier of Normal dungeons all seem to have the same pattern), but a refer-to list would help. Someone recommended to me I should try to farm a L'il Black Dragon and evolve it and I have no idea where to look.

So far, my only boss drop has been my Naga (now an Echidna the Red Empress). I haven't had the heart to try special dungeons on anything higher than Adept yet, because if I try it and get wiped that's hours' worth of stamina gone.

The jp wiki has it. If you have to rely on google translate to read it then I would recommend getting the latest version of the english monster book in the facebook group or just download from ^^^^^. Find the number of the monster you want to get and then go to the jp wiki and go to its number. For example lil black dragon is linked here: http://www18.atwiki.jp/pazdra/pages/1181.html

Under "生息地・入手方法" is how you can get that monster and it lists the dungeon and stage you can find it. Then you gotta go its dungeon wiki page and see which stage it is referring to in the english version and blahblahblah. However for lil black I would recommend right now to farm for it in the legendary abyss dragon on adept. The drop rate there is a hundred times better than farming for it in the normal dungeons. This is the jp wiki page for it: http://www18.atwiki.jp/pazdra/pages/256.html and you should be able to handle it as long as you have over 4k hp (though higher is better if your attacking power isn't very good, the blogspot guy even recommends 6khp which I don't even have and I'm doing it on expert) and a 5* healer as you or your friend's leader. A 4* healer and friend 50% dark dmg reduction would also work.

Edit: Just checked and actually, scratch everything I said. The chinese wiki is better if you don't know either language because it has user friendly links and icons all over their monster book and dungeon list http://zh.pad.wikia.com/wiki/%E5%AE...E8%A1%A8021-040

So on my first playthrough I just had a Succubus and managed to get to like rank 25 before giving up.

After like 10 rerolls I ended up with this:

She isn't a god but she's 5* and it said Super Rare so I'm guessing I should keep her?

VV Yeah I'll see what I get from the next batch of stones first

I would recommend against it unless you're tired of rerolling. Echidna at some point in the future is a key monster everyone should have in their roster but she's easily farmable and is not a good or useful leader so not many people would friend you for her. If you want you can get try the first set of normal dungeons and see what those 5 magic stones will give you.

Thanks guy!

For iOS users you don't need to re-download to re-roll. Just use I-funbox to open app data -> document ->delete data048.bin. This is your account information as well, so if you want to multibox just back this up and switch it out.

You don't need to be jailbroken to do this.

One thing I want to pick at is that God creatures aren't the best starters, and that half of them are actually pretty terrible. Norse gods used to be recommended but they got replaced in the new patch (starters now share their 2x element leadership trait)

Only Gods that are considered top starters would be

Indian - Fire (Shiva), Grass (Parvati), Water

Japan - Amaterasu (Not a great starter but potential is too good) Overtakes Siren at lvl 70 with stage 2

Greek - Neptune Used in Poison / Water teams

Norse - Used to be recommended but now lot less valued because starters were given 4th evo that share the leadership skills (we're probably a long way off). Still, Fire is recommended.

If you pull Orochi (Japanese water god) Keep it as an alt but don't start with it. It's leadership is Super sturdy (if you get killed by damage greater than 50% of your current hp you don't die - non-god version is 70%) It's unique in that it's a must for end game but it's stronger lower level it is. Share it as well cause its core on about every late game special dungeon running team.

Good Non-God Starters:

Magic Swords Man: has xx orb -> yy orb transformation (probably want atleast lvl 2 version and lvl 3 is instant keep)

Orb transformations is core on every element team + They have good leadership skills + Great stats

Bonus points for Grass/Dark because they are core on Dragon Teams. Fire also because fire teams are easy for non-cash.

Recovery -> Atk: Heart orbs -> yy element
Again core for all element team.

Mega Bonus points for Valkyrie. Core leader in a unique (easy to assemble team) that can clear Hell Hera and only comes from rare gacha.

Vampire can be gotten from event/dungeon/friendship gacha at low rates, but core on Dark teams which is also good for non-cash.

Titan is easily grindable so don't keep. Grass / Water good but they are a lot more costly to assemble than Dark/Fire.

Healer girls: All can be gotten from medium level grinding / leveling but if you pull the lvl 3 variant feel free to start with it (Pray for a good 2nd 3rd roll)

Bonus points for Siren - Enchantress - best healer next to a fully grown Amaterasu. Friends will love you.

Riders are dual element, magic swordsman's crazy uncle at the moment. Okay to start if you get the lvl 2 version. (Pray for good 2nd 3rd roll)

Toy Dragons: God has abandoned you. They are literally the worst thing to pull. They have terrible stats, wonky leadership (multi-element resist) and same active as a lvl 2 slime.

Elves: God has abandoned you. They are bad bad bad.

Edit:

Forgot the Ultimate Dragons: Grass/Dark/Light are good - but they become good after they get ultimate evolved and just a warning they take even more xp than gods. I personally say don't keep unless you pull a 4 or 5 star version.

I'd be more inclined to throw them a few bucks if their IAP prices weren't so whack. I really think a pull should cost $1-$2 not the $5 they want now.

I forgot about Valkyrie, that's also a very good starter pull AND it doesn't drop.

Your list is good in that it is alot easier in the early-middle game stage to have a mystic knight or 5* 2x atk boss dragon compared to a lvl<10 neptune but I made my list in mind with the big overall picture in the endgame and having rare active/leader skills. If you change up your post on the parts where you say stuff like 'lvl3 variant' to 5 stars or 5* so the terms are consistent I'll link it in the OP.

Not true! Both gods and them are in the same and biggest xp tier.

But then the drop rates will be even more horrible so Some people like to pretend it's a subscription game and throw in $5/10 bucks a month while some people like me just throw in like $23 bucks and consider it a good steam indie game.

I don't want to scare anyone but someone posted on the facebook group that they spent $85 bucks and got 0 rare drops above three stars. Anyone who rerolled for a while knows this is sadly very possible.

Hahaha gently caress this game! I spent 5 bucks so I could have two pulls. What do I get? A 3 star Drall and 3 star Cupid. This game is cruel. Oh well I kinda wanted a Cupid for my light team anyhow but still getting it from a pull is cheap. Now back to farming the weekend dungeon.

Since today is Hera day I thought I'll share this:
http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=htt...oK2t8iKGnpA&s=1

That is a video of someone beating Hera with a very underpowered team and it took him 35 MINUTES just for Hera herself. The Hera special dungeon is on the same difficulty tier as the video I posted at the end of the OP. The guy in my OP is a super heavy IAP user while in this team the only monster that requires IAP is his leader, Valkyrie. IAP or no IAP you still need to plan and form your team right and the difference is only just the time it takes to clear.

But let's check out this team to see why it works.

Leader: Valkyrie
Sub: 2x Siren the Enchanter (5* mermaid), 1x Lilith (5* succubus), and 1x Echidna the Red Empress (5* naga)
Friend: Viper Orochi

The suicide theory is that with Orochi, whose leader skill allows you survive a fatal hit as long as you have 50%hp and above by putting you back at 1hp, you roll with a low hp team so that it is easier to heal back to 50%hp and above from 1hp. And what other better low hp monsters are there than Healer types who have low hp and high RCV. Mermaid, succubus and naga are all Healers and you will hear about them alot because they are super useful always. However Healers also have low attack and just a team healers will probably not even get pass the high defenses endgame monsters have. So enter Valkyrie, whose leader skill is 2.5x the attack of healers.

As for active skills, Valkyrie turns heal orbs to light orbs. Siren changes fire orbs to heal orbs. Lilith poisons the monster which does 1x her ATK every turn until it dies. Echidna and Orochi have a 3 and 5 turn delay respectively.

So what happens is that every single turn the guy has to match a heal orb and combo it so that heals enough to restore him to 50%hp. Doing this he slowly chips away at Hera's massive hp. When there are no heal orbs on the field he will have to use one of the siren's skills to create some. In this event that both sirens' skils are recharging he can use one of the turn delays to delay Hera's attack until he can heal. Slow and steady and kills your phone battery but it works and he is rewarded with a Hera drop since it always drops as long as you kill her.

The challenge with playing this team is actually the first five levels in the Hera dungeon where you might be stuck with no charged skills and get fatally hit twice in a turn since the Resolve skill only revives you once per turn.

By the way, Hera's statline? 2569319 HP, 12345 ATK every 1 turn, and 372 defense.

The Heroic ideal

Trying to find a guide to play on a rooted Android but having no puck has anyone been Able to figure it out?

Wassbix

Thanks guy!

Some Basic Team Comps.

Basic Elemental:

3 parts
Booster:Leader with X multiple to Y Element (Norse gods / some Indian gods / Starting dragon)

Defence -> Offence: Gem converter that converts Recovery Gems to Offense Gem to your colour. (IE Valkyrie, Titan, Vampire etc)

XX -> YY: Convert opposite Gem to one that matches your element (This is where your Magic Swordman fits in)

Friendship Leader: Usually a copy of the booster (making it 4x/3.5/2.25 depending on gods) / healer for the lazy

That is core for every element team.

On difficulty to assemble it would go
Fire -> Dark -> Grass -> Water -> Light

Dark is the most popular because:
1) No-Resists
2) Vampire Farmable so low/none gacha requirements
3) Dark Swordsman/Dark Dragon transition into 6.25 dragon teams
4) Hera is 100% drop on event dungeons
5) Evolved Black Slimie act as ghetto Booster for dark teams

Fire is also popular because Titans are farmable and also very easy to assemble given you started with a decent Fire god / Swordsman.

Grass/Water/Light - Don't do it unless you started a Valkyrie or a 5* Grass Swordsman. They cost too much to assemble and don't transition late game, except Valkyrie (on 6.25x healer teams) or Grass Sword (6.25x Dragons)

Special Teams~:

Valkyrie 6.25x (or 2.25 sturdy variant)

Valkyrie gives Healer types 2.25x boost so the team revolves around having
2 Valkyrie Leader + Fire / Dark / Water Healers + Extra (Usually a FF healer with Attack delay but he's not in, replace with extra Fire or Light Swordsman)

Super Safe + Hits Super hard + little orb problems. One of the best standard dungeon running compositions and really the only multi-element team that is viable. Also, easy to assemble as only drawback is the Valkyrie starter.

You can replace the 2nd Valkyrie with a Orochi to run the Sturdy Variant for the Super late dungeons.

6.25x Dragon Team

Probably the most common and the go-to dungeon grinding team.

Composed of Grass Swordsman 5* (Leader and Friend leader) + Dark Swordsman 5* / Ultimate Dark/Grass Dragon (dark/grass dual element).

Both Grass/Dark Swordsman are considered dragons and Grass gives 2.25x to all dragons - so you have a team full 6.25x multiplier dragon team with no gem conversion issues.

Resist + Active Team

This team is the laziest way to run the Hard Special Dungeons.

Composed of 5 Elemental Resist dragons + Amaterasu/Siren Friend

Leader X Resist corresponding to the dungeon + Healer
Turn 1:Charge all active -> nuke nuke nuke nuke nuke Turn 6: Charge all active -> Repeat infinity till boss dead.

Sturdy Team
There are literally 100s of variation of this team format so ill just explain the basics.

Sturdy is a Leadership trait that if you receive a fatal hit while above 70% HP you will live with 1 HP. (Blue ogre / Green ogres have this)

So basically the idea is to make a team with the lowest possible HP / Highest damage potential with enough healing to cover at least up to 70% of your total life pool. Meaning that against a single attack per turn, you are literally invincible.

Pro:
*Monsters that one-shot you literally cannot kill you.

Con:
*Rooms with a lot of mobs that attack at the same turn will kill you unless you conserve orbs properly for burst
*Low Damage until we get matchsticks/Crystals (If we ever get? it was a Japanese special promo)

Smart play + Sturdy team is how most of players will clear dungeons far above their current team's specs.

Also, you can grind wed/thurs mask dungeons this way!

Example Sturdy for Mask dungeon farming:

Blue/Grass Ogre or Orochi* + 5 blue/green spirit + Siren Friend

Masks only take 1 damage so damage output does not matter - so just make sure to kill the ones that attack on the same turn. Expert mask at rank 6 is possible.

Just to clarify on some of the terms wassbix are using (good post btw):

Swordsman = known as mystic knight in english version
Sturdy = known as Resolve in english
5* Green Swordsman/Mystic knight = more commonly known as Ancient Dragon Knight and referred to shorthanded as ADK.

SNATTER'S ALIVE?!?!

So I finally tried out my new-and-improved 5* Siren.

At experience level 2, without any RCV plusses, she's healing for 1326 every turn that I match anything. ANYTHING. And she's only going to get better as she levels up and her stats go up.

She is so choice. If you have the means I highly recommend picking one up.

(And you have the means. She doesn't require anything stunningly rare to evolve, and there are a number of midgame levels where her first form can be farmed, albeit painfully.)

CONGRATULATIONS!!

*I* personally think that out of all the stuff you can pull out of the rare egg machine, not including special rare limited time promotions, Amaterasu is the most valuable one. Once you get it evolved and leveled please put your friend code in here so we can all share in your gift. Also, argh, I guess I should put this somewhere in the OP too, if you find a monster with a +1 that adds to RCV you should feed it to your Amaterasu. Amaterasu is a late bloomer and a long term project so don't hesitate to bench him if you need someone else as a leader or even on your team.

What I loved most about the game was the collaborative events, so one of the monsters was that little dude from Taiko no Tatsujin and making him leader meant your orbs would make taiko noises. How amazing is that? I'm hoping we'll see a lot more of that with English-language apps.
