I've messed around a little with the engy and demo weapons, the cannon explodes if you don't fire your bombs in time, so you can use it to jump pretty well. Either just holding fire and jumping and flying around Beggars Bazooka style, or just releasing just before the bar fills to have the bomb explode the moment it leaves the barrel. The range for grabbing your sentries and things seems pretty good, and repairing them at range is pretty cool too. I caved and bought the Dr. Rockso set and a key, I opened my nice crate and I got the scarf. The scarf looks awesome on every class. dammit, I need more misc slots for my pyro, scout and sniper.

I played around in pubs a little bit with the Vaccinator. I don't think it's quite as effective as the Kritz or Medigun, and I highly doubt it's going to see much use in high-level play, but I had a lot of fun with it. Maybe I'm just one of the few people who actually likes messing about with the resistances and popping lots of small ubers instead of waiting around for one big one.

Yeah, wouldn't that be terrible? It's a good thing that the wrangler shuts down your sentry for a few seconds when you switch away from it. It would suck if that was a thing that could happen.

I haven't used the Vaccinator yet, but I feel like it falls into the same trap as the Quick-Fix - it enhances the overall effectiveness of regular healing and gives pockets slightly better survivability, but the survivability boost is completely negated by lovely overheal capability, and its terrible ubercharge can't completely change the situation like the good mediguns do.

Really, Valve? +attack3? I really think that TF2 has benefited a lot from only having two attack buttons. Restrictions breed creativity, after all. While there is some stuff (like MvM Heavy Rage) that would be nice to have another button for, I think the overall simplicity of the design so far is better than tacking on more buttons for every little thing they want to add. I love the context-dependent taunt/canteen thing, though.

It's not like anyone is ever going to use that, since mouse wheel click's only use as an attack is switching the vaccinator, apparently.

I agree that you're unlikely to pull any gamechanging maneuvers with it like the Medigun. The overheal can be problematic if you're constantly in battle, but the fact that you even CAN overheal puts it miles ahead of the Quick-Fix in that regard. The uber is a bit harder for me to accurately gauge (although like I said, stock's uber is probably better in the end) because you're popping out lots of weak ubers instead of one really strong one. While you aren't going to be making huge pushes with it, it can alter the outcome of small fights, which I feel can add up in the long run. Of course, this is just me justifying the use of a lovely Gimmick Weapon, so take this all with a grain of salt. I'm sure as hell not going to say it should be used in comp matches or anything, but I don't really feel it's fair to lump it in with the Quick Fix.

I've already bound M3 to something else. Now I guess I've got to figure out a button to bind that I will only ever use for one weapon. Or just never use the Vaccinator. M3 is a bad button to require anyway, though, since it's easy to accidentally scroll while trying to press it.

Oh man, just finished one of the new MvM missions. It had a final boss. A giant Fists of Steel Heavy with custom animations and somewhere in the vicinity of 70,000 health. It regenerated health constantly and insta-killed everything that got within arms reach. His name was Captain Punch.

So it turns out you can clock someone in the dome with a cannonball and then have them take more damage from the explosion afterwards. I guess the pro-est way to use it would be timing the fuse so they get hit twice. It's a blast to goof around with otherwise.

The Vaccinator seems interesting. I'm not sure I like it. I really enjoy the mini-ubers concept and how fast it charges- it seems fun, which is good. But maybe not effective enough? I think I'd like the uber to protect against all three damage types. And the overheal to not be quite as slow. Maybe half that slow. As it stands, you can overheal one guy and that's about it. This seems really good for smaller matches, like 6v6 stuff maybe. But awful for larger servers. It's also obnoxious to have to cycle damage types, I'd like it if there were a way to just switch to the specific one I want instead of going around the circle. It feels really close to being on par with the other mediguns but I don't think it's quite there. It's definitely better than the quick fix though. The new medigun looks pretty neat, the backpacks hooks to your belt instead of your shoulders. The uber is this weird micro minigame and it seems really well-suited to MvM but I can see it having practical applications in popping a bullet uber to bust a sentry or a heavy and then an explosives uber to jump a soldier or demo combo without having to switch guns. The festive Huntsman is king of the new weapons, though, because the arrow tip is a lightbulb that persists onto the projectile model and sticks out the backs of peoples' heads.

Mouse3 is a lovely button on almost every mouse, even cool gaming mice, but it's a simple one to default to. Just change it if it's a problem, it's not like TF2 makes it hard to rebind your keys.

Yeah, but between the medic callout and other voice binds, taunt, the action button and a couple script buttons, TF2 already has lots of different bound keys. It's kinda annoying to squeeze in one more button that needs to be easy to access for one weapon but will go unused the other 99% of the time.

I take back the bad things I said about people jumping around with rocket jumpers on hightower, but only half take it back. Because I actually played gunboats on hightower and now I can't stop wearing them everywhere. Just had a really fun round where I joined late and still managed to top + make every top 3, flying around shooting rockets like crazy. I like it because it reminds me of TFC and I used to love to do soldier deathmatches in that game.
