I can't decide if I want a S.Festive Axtinguisher or not. Sure the lights makes it look completely baller but I'm not completely sold on the bow.

Played a round of Big Rock on Normal with some pubs. Engineerbots are intense and add a pretty fun element of intensity. The map is loving HUGE though, and I'm frightened by the idea of playing the advanced missions. nerdbot fucked around with this message at Dec 21, 2012 around 08:54 |

If a teleporter went up our Demo would just jump across the map and blow it up. Generally they only managed to do anything when we already had our asses against the wall anyway.

We played the 7-wave one, and gave up on the sixth. Having a Spy is actually pretty useful for dealing with the Engineer-bots, but otherwise it quickly becomes nonstop tanks and Giant Heavy/Soldiers. The Engineers don't really add a whole lot to it, and it's still the same monotonous, grindy experience to me. The Rescue Ranger isn't very useful, but you're barely ever doing anything as Engineer on MvM other than constantly banging on your level 3, so you might as well have it equipped.

It's kinda fun to play around with in pubs as sort of a medium-range Revolver, plus the projectiles it fires stick to players' faces so if you don't kill them they'll be covered with little "ENERGY" spiders.

Seeing that animated gif in the recreated thread OP made me feel the need to drag out this old favorite of mine. Also another goon proposed an alternate version. Anyway, I am totally psyched for Christmas and all these items. I'm going to do a lot of playing around with the Cannon, given it combines the Scorch Shot with the 'Nade launcher. (Whoever was hoping for a new roller-based GL, um, hopefully this is to your liking!) The Rescue Ranger seems like it has some potential to be the non-BS version of the Pomson I always wanted, if it fires more like a rifle than an actual shotgun. And the new Medigun.. Well, who knows, it could be okay if you don't need to do much Sentry busting. The overheal buildup didn't look that slow, and having a more fast and aggressive Medic style could be fun. Also, I wonder if the explosive resist would make it appealing to pockets. If it makes them take less from their own explosions, that could be useful.

I heard the prices on the Strange Festives are already bottoming out, what are they going for now? They were a Bud each when I went to work and now I've seen people selling them at 10 keys or less each. What I'm saying is, I want one of each of the drat things, and want to know how low I can go.

There may be a lot floating out there on the market already and the "get-rich-quick-schemers" are fighting with each other to try to get that quick buck. If that's the case, I can hopefully get strange variants of the Buff Banner and Grenade Launcher for not-that-much! Using the replay editor for screengrabs is fun. If I were better at image editing, I could make a WAR! update wallpaper for my desktop, but until then at least I got some base images.

They'll probably keep lowering as the holidays go on, and rise once they're over, though I doubt they'll reach the levels of the original festives since there will be more of them in existence. Might be best to wait a while.

In reference to the videos from the last page. Holy crap, I didn't know the Beggar's Bazooka could do that. I really think though it needs more rockets, only having 20 gets burned up pretty quick when you need to use 3 before you can start flying. And wow, that Vaccinator is one tactical sumbitch. It seems like it's going to be overpowered, but the 4 small ubers instead of 1 big one is cool. I see the loose cannon as more like the Scorch Shot and Beggars Bazooka though. I'm going to have to try it with the shield and see if they're a good combo for jumping and charging through the air and stuff. that new shotgun letting you quickly grab your poo poo from anywhere and rebuild it may actually make the jag a useful wrench now. Gotta get that level3 back up fast, son. I also bought the Rockso set, I'm going to miss my attendant, degreaser, powerjack speed bonus, but at least I can go back to using the postal pummeler.

Just wondering if anyone had had a problem when using Chris's maxfps configs, it really seems to have messed with the mouse sensitivity. generally it runs at a higher fps but does stutter more often now. seems strange.

That barnstormer hat for the engineer is sweet. But it should also be wearable by Soldier. With a style called "The Barn Jumper" that replaces the moustache with a rolled up piece of orange safety foam.
