You can also just pick up the building anyways. I would think that it's more useful for turtle engineers since they can emergency heal stuff as they run around or remote-grab a sentry if it's about to get blown up without risking themselves.

Since you can't heal mini sentries, Rescue Ranger doesn't replenish ammo, and it costs less to just drop a new sentry, there's ZERO point in using it with the Gunslinger. I can see some use with an L3, as it's easier to move your sentry ahead when you don't have to carry it the whole way, but that's only if you're on defense and are winning so hard you're considering pushing up.

I'm always a tad sad when new weapons are released and they turn out to be awful. This update was slightly better than, say, last christmas due to the rescue ranger and the cannon thing being at least fun things to play with, but I really had my hopes for the Vaccinator. That said, I really like the fact that Baby's Face Blaster is (apparently?) considered a good (or maybe just fun?) weapon!

I'm thinking the Vaccinator might just be balanced if they remove the slow-overheal attribute. I'll have to try it out myself, though. Which would also be nice because it'd simplify the stats, which is good (when they're already very different). I feel like there's a balance to strike between tacking on a half-dozen attributes creating a convoluted mess, and making something that's barely different at all (like the Winger).

First time playing in a few months, jump in a server, end up in a 6v9, with half the team spies, against two minisentries, a heavy/medic and a scout who can actually aim. Why do I keep playing this poo poo. Like, I don't understand how we had a decent comp until the heavy appeared and then half the team instantly went spy. Why, why do you do this? Man. This isn't a good game for people who like to win. Xenaero fucked around with this message at Dec 21, 2012 around 19:07 |

That and 90mph fish-kills.

Idunno man, I've slowly made my way back onto TF2 these last few days, and playing sniper has proved incredibly fun (and productive, my aim isn't poo poo now). Fun as in landing headshot after headshot on the fat loving heavies pushing the cart while their medics frantically try to keep them alive. Aside from those, headshotting every other class is getting pretty easy, except for scouts. gently caress scouts.

The problem is that your "backstab" does about 70 damage. Great for harassment, but takes too long to get kills. Melee blaster is fantastic though and I'll always think the blaster is a particularly inspired bit of design since it makes all the scout melee options as fun as the atomizer without hurting the atomizer

Drive-by fish attacks with the baby's face blaster are great. It basically turns the game into doom if you're a scout. You've got the single shotgun and you're running around at maximum speed trying to dodge rockets without jumping.

So the festive huntsman is seriously broken. I've been shooting down projectiles with it all day (rockets, arrows, needles even!) and it tends to get stuck in walls when you're trying to shoot around a corner. Very frustrating ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLKIgiXAyC8

Well yeah, did you see the lightbulb on the arrowhead? Its at least three times as wide as normal. Also re: the Pyro boots- everyone on Metalocalypse wears those big shin-high leather boots because they're metal. Everyone except Pickles, but drummers have good reason to wear sneakers instead.

Opened two naughty crates and got two of the festives I wanted - Huntsman and Holy Mackerel. Neither is strange, but that's okay. I also can't believe people are trying to sell holiday keys on the market for more than store price. If people are actually buying though, more power to them.

If you haven't already, I suggest trying the new Dead Ringer glitch on MVM. Due to an error in having max crit-resistance, you can get insane amounts of overheal if you are at low health and then damaged by critical weapons while dead ringing. In the second-to-last wave of Broken Parts I had over 10,000 HP

I just finished one of the new MvM missions. Does it seem like they're a little more difficult than the original advanced missions? As in, more in line with expert difficulty? Or am I just not used to the new maps and challenges? CAPTAIN PUNCH IS FUN. Heavy knockback really stings him though, since he moves so slow as it is.

I would say that it's probably a little too early to drat the Vaccinator, it's only been out a day. People getting used to the different playstyle for it might help a bit instead of them just going I HATE IT AND IT'S TERRIBLE PLEASE NEVER USE THIS. The thing is, once you're used to the huge size of the map in terms of knowing where to regroup if you're pushed back, and know how to take out Engineers efficiently, it's mostly just the same as it's been before. There are a few legitimate-good waves like one which is non-stop spies, but I really hate how most of the difficult missions like this are just endless giants and tanks with not much in terms of originality or unique mechanics. It's like an MMO raid where you're just fighting endless trash mobs, and instead of a boss you just get more difficult trash.

The problem with it being a different playstyle is that it's kind of a bad playstyle. Thanks to the crappy overheal, it's worse than the Medigun at keeping your whole team filled up and topped off, it's hard to use its benefits without sticking to a single person, and even the uber won't save you if you're up against two enemies at the same time. It could be a great pubstomp medigun, but the limitation of only granting resistance to one damage type at any given time means it's never going to really be a useful Medic tool unless they change it, at least during the ubers.
