To be fair though that's true for all fetishes. I simply cannot for the life of me understand why people post about their fetishes on their tumblrs or whatever. I mean if you have like a community of people specifically to discuss this sort of thing then it makes sense to post there and talk about it of course, but to just casually post about your love of horse dongs in a public space is just weird. You don't go to a public place and shout "HELLO EVERYONE I LIKE TO WEAR SOILED DIAPERS AND JERK OFF TO CARTOON PONIES" for a reason.

Maybe I'm just getting old but that just will never make any sense to me. I think the kinds of people who do that are just weird in the head somehow or have no social skills whatsoever and they are probably a very small minority.

You assume any of them see anywhere they go as a "public space" and not just an extension of their hugbox.

Like, someone who likes diapers but doesn't know why. Mommy issues or something. He goes on the internet, and people tell him all about this crazy fetish involving diapers and other things. He assumes that is what he has and grows into the role, but never actually had it in the first place.

But "they" has been usable as a singular genderless pronoun since way before gender identity was even like a concept people had. The "xir" stuff I'm totally on board with you about, though.

"They" is plural, end of discussion. If someone feels that they are neither male nor female and wants to make up a pronoun, okay, fine. The woman whose blog was posted early on in the thread, though, who wanted to be called "che" because she is a super female?

I apologize from the bottom of my apparently cold selfish heart for making her live through such a terrible home, where she could get back on her feet by getting a job, saving up money, and even have friends around, where she didn�t have any expenses but her own to worry about, where she saved over $1500 in living expenses, where she had someplace to eat, sleep, shower, keep her things safe, all things that, last time I checked, were important to people, especially people who don�t have them.

She never had to sleep in her car, or search through a dumpster, or beg on the streets. She never had to worry about someone violating her privacy by any stretch of the imagination. She could be free and open about who she is. She had someone supporting her, trying to help her find a job, making sure she didn�t go hungry. She had games, and internet, Netflix, so many things people who are struggling would consider a luxury.

Not once did she offer to help with anything. She took the garbage out one time, about 4 months into living here. Not once did she actually clean up her own dishes, or pick up her own garbage. Maybe I just overestimate what people usually do when they live with others, free or not, but I thought people helped out with chores, cleaned up after themselves, made some small contribution to the household. And for someone who always seemed like she wanted to stay as long as possible, never did anything to make her case, other than �feel sorry for me because I�m trans and no one likes trans people.� She has more in savings than either of us do in our checking and savings combined. I don�t feel pity for her. She used and abused our kindness, and would like the internet to feel sorry for her and the terrible position we put her in. And when asked to leave, we tried to do the same as a landlord would. In reality, she is not and was not ever on the lease, and didn�t require any notice at all.

So I hope that clears up how terribly monstrous we have been, asking her to at least act like she respects our home, by putting things back where they go, turning off things she isn�t using, replacing things if she uses the last of them, and cleaning up after herself. Apparently my idea of what an adult should be able to accomplish, is somehow skewed, and the two of us are some super creatures who at least make an attempt to clean up, even when our mental illness is trying to block us into our rooms and tell us to just go back to sleep.

I know that some of you will read this and declare that it must all be lies, because Kinsey is so wonderful and infallible. But there are two sides to every story, and you should have both, especially those of you who have been passing judgment on us.

I don't think it has ever actually worked out that way. They will always attack you about something, even if they have to make something up to do it. There is just no reasoning with crazy people. Why would you want to argue with them in the first place? I am sure there are bigger wastes of time out there, but I am having trouble thinking of any.

They're a scammer who professes to hate white people but somehow always ends up attacking women of color far more viscously. They claim to be black/Indian/whatever is most convenient at the moment and yet are also massively racist (they were outted on Livejournal as smallblackangel who would call people niggers constantly and make surprise sex jokes, despite their other account, Gisei_Nashi_Ni, attacking people for that very thing). They moved to tumblr after losing all support on Livejournal, and went right back to their old ways. So, Riley is a massive hypocrite when it comes to racism, sexism, surprise sex culture, and taking advantage of people (see: the entire Arkh project which is a complete scam).

Fail Fandom has a fairly up to date write up on them.

The Encyclopedia Dramatica page focuses more on the Arkh Project.

The Riley in the video, as far as I know, is nothing more than an annoying furry with a foam fetish.

Because even a broken clock is right twice a day. And if you're on Tumblr and already follow a bunch of people, it's easy to only see those right-twice-a-day moments and think that their anger at other people is at least a bit justified, if overblown.

But then hopefully at some point though you realize how deep the rabbit hole goes and just go

There must be something else that keeps people around, though. They almost have a kind of mini cult of personality thing going on. But they're not really that charismatic...? They can be pretty manipulative, though, from what I've seen. Hm. I dunno.

If you're scrupulously polite and respectful, you're more likely to just be ignored, while people who are insulting get held up as examples of what horrible human beings all their critics supposedly are. Either way, an actual discussion open to disagreement isn't really on the cards.
