About 400 replies ago (in the last thread) I mentioned a Duncan Jones tweet that said if Sam Rockwell couldn't do 'Moon' they were in touch with Paddy Considine to do it & nobody here bloody well cared! Tell me someone out there finds this as interesting as I do, please.

Not much to say. It would've been amazing. I consider Considine both a better and more entertaining actor than Rockwell. I still liked Moon though. But I didn't love it.

Are we shoving all of the Superhero movies into BSS? Because I'd be OK with that, aside from Man of Steel. That has the potential to be super.

The change isn't rules-based. It's a secret, for now. I was massively disappointed by Charlie Brooker's 2012 Wipe. Utter poo poo in comparison to his usual standard.

That first episode is straight out of The Office. Is the first one with the young head chef that can't cook an egg or tell the difference between beef, pork, and lamb? Because that's my favourite one. The episode where they're interviewing various chefs for a struggling one star restaurant was pretty great as well. I suppose the American version is nice because he has the budget to redecorate the restaurant, or give them new equipment. However, it's overwrought with dramatic reveals and reality TV moments. It really is missing the charm and intimacy of the Gordon narrated episodes. It's a lot like Eddie Izzard's bit on the difference between British and American films. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjC3R6jOtUo wyoming fucked around with this message at Jan 1, 2013 around 23:43 |

Far Cry 3 is a fun game that would be a lot better if it could decide what it wanted to be about. Instead it meanders from idea to idea and never really fleshes anything out. It's a massive case of blue balls. Still fun as poo poo, though. I blew up a shark with C4.

I feel like the game really wants to be about how indulging in the incredible levels of violence found in some games and not batting an eye because of the medium is kinda hosed up. There's some weird elements that really feel like they're supposed to be like references to Jason being disconnected from the events around him and almost viewing them as a game and getting an adrenaline high off some crazy poo poo that any sane person would be terrified by irl, but it never really fleshes this or any other idea out. This is besides the much more obvious, but still scatter-assed, idea that it's about insanity, pure and simple. Also I was taking over a base and there was a caged bear and I let the bear out of its cage and it proceeded to tear the pirates the gently caress apart before turning on me and I shot it with an RPG.
