Has anybody seen Ninja Theory's Twitter? Apparently any low score that the game receives is not a genuine review and consumers must be warned about this! I've got to say that NT's reaction to all the negative impressions of this game have been pretty interesting, but to see them outright say that low review scores don't count is a whole other level of crazy. Or maybe not, since I just saw a picture of the creative director who looks exactly like the new Dante. What are they smoking over there?!

There's a pressure to keep it up in the other games, whereas DmC just hands it to you on a platter - freezes it at whatever rank you're currently at, and only drops it when you take a hit. Tbh I like it more than DMC3/4s music which was truly execrable. I can see what they were going for.

It's weird, I don't go for industrial metal but I actually liked the music they had in DMC3. They hit the right amount of cheesiness with decent instrument work and editing, and some of the tracks are legitimately badass outside of the game ( DMC4's tracks definitely suck rear end compared to 1 and 3 though. SurrealityCheck posted:Yeah, I suppose I should have tagged it with "in my opinion". 'Course with music that's always how it is! Nah man, I think most goons are reasonable enough to automatically know that what people post is their opinion unless it's overtly objective. On that note, apart from dubstep boss fights, I guess the biggest criticism I have against DmC's soundtrack right now is that it doesn't get you pumped like in the old games. It's a lot more minimalist and ambient which is a direction I can respect; but sadly, the lack of energy is fitting with what we've seen of the game so far. toasterwarrior fucked around with this message at Jan 8, 2013 around 13:52 |

I've never minded the cheesy buttrock from 3 and 4. Though I still think DMC1 had the best overall soundtrack. 2 had a surprisingly decent one too, probably one of the few redeeming things about the game. I should mention, that Combichrist's battle themes aren't on the OST. Some of them are apparently just remixes of their older stuff according to a comment on another forum (I have no idea, I don't follow Combichirst).

As a person who kinda really likes Noisia, I really like their soundtrack for this. The music is really minimal at times which works well for actually traversing, but I would hope the music changes to something more powerful during fights. Some of the songs have some really loving great drum work too.

Are Japanese trailers known for their length? Most Western games don't go for trailers that long; it almost feels like an ad for a movie. Which is telling I guess, because the "game" part still doesn't look impressive and the dialogue is still crap, but the editing and cinematography would make for a decent action flick. Nice to see Fireworks back though. That part with Vergil with a rifle and Kat in his sights? I'm calling it, even though I think it's obvious as gently caress: he gets her killed, then Dante gets pissed and fights him.

Let's not muddle criticism of the game and the companies behind it with stuff like this; it's only fair. vvv: Yeah I know, but your comment on a possible price was a bit pointed. It might be justified, but I really don't think Capcom would do something like that with the shitstorm that Street Fighter X Tekken caused, as well as the ending of Asura's Wrath literally being DLC. That'd almost be cartoonishly evil. toasterwarrior fucked around with this message at Jan 9, 2013 around 17:43 |

I think you dudes are being a bit cynical about why they made it free. Ninja theory have always as a company had a policy of mostly free post-launch stuff. This is being done, in my opinion, as an attempt to get hardcore fans a bit more on side because a) it's an old, requested feature and b) FREE STUFF

This is being done, in my opinion, as an attempt to get hardcore fans a bit more on side because a) it's an old, requested feature and b) FREE STUFF This isn't cynical dude. It's the exact reason why pretty much every company offers free DLC. It extends the life of the game before someone will trade it in/get rid of it/stop playing it. It isn't a bad thing if done well. Look at Team Fortress 2 for an example of post-launch support extending the length of a game for a ridiculous amount of time. I'm not sure what you mean by that for Ninja Theory though. I don't recall any free stuff for Enslaved and that was their third game. It had Pigsy's thing but that was pay-for. I don't recall Heavenly Sword getting any DLC at all. So... where is Ninja Theory getting this reputation? Did Kung Fu Chaos or whatever have DLC? It was for the X-Box so I kinda doubt it.
