DrVenkman posted:Yeah on that note, are there any podcasts which just talk about bad movies without trying to be 'funny' about it. Or would that simply not work for most people. Like an honest analysis of how the movie doesn't work without making jokes about it? That might be interesting and a change of pace, so now you've made me curious.

sweet_jones posted:The WHM ep on Running Man is superb. Is there a podcast that specializes in "lovely but fantastic" ? I believe this and Best of the Best 2 are my two favorite episodes of theirs. I'm just kind of reeling from how different it was from the book. They seriously added boss battles? That said, the movie does sound pretty awesome to watch with friends.

"Tuff Turf" is another good WHM episode, as is "Invisible Child". Any episode featuring a movie that has Wilford Brimley in it is also a good idea. I'd also recommend the Flophouse as a podcast where the chemistry is tangible. They don't go that in depth into the movie, but the friendly riffing really makes up for it.

Jesus Christ the new WHM episode. I have no experience with the original Easy Rider, and the description of the sequel managed to piss me off anyway. I can't imagine the pain it would cause a fan of the original.

Chris being there is worth it just for the "Chris Cabin, would you get a tattoo of a small house?" joke in Tuff Turf.

Yeah this was definitely a good one, I liked when they tore apart the movie's lovely attitude towards disabled people.

Finally got around to watching that Mrs Doubtfire episode. It's been said before but We Hate Movies is at their best when talking about the "terrible people that the movie refuses to acknowledge as terrible" subgenre.

The Flophouse isn't so much a "bad movie podcast" as it is a "singing, ribbing the host, riffing on mispronunciations and oh yeah, there's some lovely failed movie in there somewhere" podcast. You kind of have to live with that if you want to enjoy it. That said, it's a wonderful time once you've learned to deal with that.

BigRed0427 posted:Mortal Kombat is one of those movies that can't be called a Good movie, but is still enough to it that it is enjoyable to watch. To me it isn't really fun tearing it down as if it was something like Blame it on Rio, Easy Rider The Ride back or Addicted to Love. For We Hate Movies, or any bad movie podcast, I think their better episodes are when they are talking a truly bad movie. I don't know about that. The Tuff Turf and Hard Target episodes are pretty good.

Some of the best WHM moments are them riffing on Chris Cabin when he's not there, so his presence is justified just for that. And the "Chris Cabin, would you get a tattoo of a small house?" question in Tuff Turf.

On the Flop House and We Hate Movies, I feel like I don't need to see the movie to understand the conversation, but HDTGM makes me feel like I do. And that would be fine if it wasn't a bad movie podcast. I don't wanna see Goobie to get the most out of a comedy podcast

Drunkboxer posted:Nemesis wasn't trying, it was hot garbage. It was clumsy remake of WOK and is one of the few movies I actually got angry watching. A boring two-parter would be high loving praise for Nemesis. It's easily the worst trek movie ever, it was directed by a man who hadn't seen any episodes TNG, and it sunk the franchise. The only good thing about Nemesis is that it failed to sink Tom Hardy's career for good.
