This isn't like Warrior owning like 10 different colored copies of the IC and WWF titles. All things considered, it's not a bad looking custom belt. John Cena posted:When the US and IC titles were reintroduced to WWE in 2003, they had brand new designs made for them. The one for the US title is the one that is alive and well today. The design they had for the IC title, however, they wound up not using and just went back to the already established belt, but now with a nameplate. In all honesty, I wouldn't mind if WWE had used a modified version of this for the WWE Championship belt. It's a nice looking belt overall and wouldn't need a whole lot else added to it to make it at least look like a world title.

I love looking at the differences in the height of the cage from then, until now. I'm sure the walls are the same height but it makes a massive difference being 15' from the floor, versus 15' up from the mat itself. I still wonder how guys like Hardy and Angle survived those long-rear end falls without dying or being stretchered out.

I'll say it again, he reminds me of Mr. Perfect on commentary - will put over guys in the ring while making little jabs at guys he doesn't like, calls the match like it should be, and has good back-and-forth dialogue with the other commentators. I loved when the Punk-HHH angle was going on and HHH wanted Punk on commentary, and Punk's reaction about getting double pay and asking if he could wear HHH's suit coat I want to say Punk ended up being a commentator AND guest timekeeper during the match IIRC due to a bunch of guys walking out from "fear of their safety", that night was pretty awesome.

Sydney Bottocks posted:I don't think so, though the evidence (apparently we're both fans of wrestling, Doctor Who, and Rik Mayall) is pretty staggering Hell yeah Even the NWA heavyweight title belt design was pretty popular, I know they used that same style for the NWA US title for a bit and even those WCCW tag belts used it. I'd guess it was more of a cost measure, probably wasn't cheap to get a custom belt done back then so it was easier to use an already established "template" for an existing one (especially if they only had a limited number of people/companies to make the belts). Still love how those dual-plated designs look, like the WWF tag and Hogan 86 with the gold and silver. I remember Hogan and Savage both had versions of the later Reggie Parks eagle belt done in gold and silver, and it looked pretty sweet compared to the all-gold version: Even the original "big gold" NWA heavyweight looked gorgeous with dual-plate

Or just goofy stuff, like when Mick Foley did his Dude Love gimmick and had videos of him flying around or dancing with all sorts of weird backgrounds.
