Not only did 203mm caliber SPGs lose about 1.5m of splash (2m on gold rounds), those gold shells now also cost 20g instead of 15g, with presumably 10g on sale, which makes it 67% more expensive to shoot credit gold rounds now. Even on sale and with premium you'll be looking at barely making a profit in t7 SPGs only shooting gold shells, especially your splash is noticeably worse now.
I noticed this right off the bat in my S-51. Really sucks - the day before the patch I managed to damage 4 different vehicles in one shot, finishing one at 250 health off and doing between 150 and 400 damage to the other 3. This morning while doing my 3x I landed shell after shell that, pre patch, would have been a 300 damage splash for no damage at all.

I wouldn't link non-working stuff, usually at least! It seems to work with a few caveats:
- It removes all comments
- It also reshuffels the order of entries

But it doesn't seem to delete any entries though. Before XVM there was a mod called OTM, for which some guy had made a GUI editor with Adobe AIR. Luckily XVM had backwards compatibility so it read the old OTMData.xml files made with the legacy editor.

With the new flash app I found I got finally rid of my legacy configs.

For a complete newbie, could you either point me in a direction of a tutorial for XVM or confirm that it's nothing more than installing an up-to-date version of XVM and then just editing some xvm-config-file via that tool and replacing the original?

If you want to get statistics, you have to also install something called "Dokan Library"?

Read this, see if it works for you - http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index...m-installation/

Rather than using his "Simple XVM", you can use whatever version you prefer. I use the AIO Mod pack as the basis of my mods, then customize from there - http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index...-sounds-tweaks/

If he's grinding the Easy Eight to unlock the T20 and is going to move that crew to the T20, Pershing, etc as he unlocks the tanks, it kind of makes sense to have Recon/Situational Awareness on the Commander and Radioman instead of repair since American mediums have really great view range as they go up the tiers.

If that's just a dedicated Easy Eight crew and he's already elited it then I'm with you.

Yeah the Hetzer's a good candidate for a keeper, since it has the 105mm derp gun that can kill anything at tier 4, and even some tier 5s, with a single penetrating shot. Always load HE and HEAT, never AP, in it though.

Yep, pretty much. That's my old Patton crew back when it was god on wheels, and tried to maximize its strengths (shooting on the move, view range). Retrained them for my E8 but don't play it much so never respeced the skills. Thought about doing that earlier today actually, but like I said, I don't play it all that much.

Man, abusing the one the move accuracy and view range is something I was more than glad to give up repair for on that thing. Too bad that went away.....

The German Tech Tree looked fun so I went for that. I have since been told it's not so newbie friendly so I'm now working towards a KV-1 (if the euro servers ever decide to come back) as I heard it was pretty good for farming credits. And it looks like I'll need to do a lot of that.

Should I max out my tanks or just save my XP until I can get the next tank?

Also, I hopped on the TS and started listening in on some dudes playing.

Usually it's a good idea to get all the modules on the tank you're playing before going to the next one, except sometimes the radio. You may notice that 5% of your experience every match gets allocated to the free experience pool. Don't use this experience for buying a tank. Keep in mind that playing a maxed out tank is a lot easier than playing a tank of the next tier stock. Use free experience to research modules for a new tank.

More importantly, I'm learning to nail incredibly lucky moving shots that hit Marders in a frontal weak point and one-shot them, then turn the turret and penetrate the backside of another Marder shooting into the center. Still not sure what the third one-shot for Reaper was, but I pretty much was the right flank while the rest of the team moved down the center and wooded road. 7 kills altogether, including the two Marder IIs and a pair of Chi-Has.

Oh so you don't want to see the efficiency at all? Just remove it altogether like this... "rating" means the guy's winratio %.

"formatLeft": "{{vehicle}} <font color='{{c:kb}}'>{{kb:3}}</font> <font color='{{c:rating}}'>{{rating}}</font>",
"formatRight": "<font color='{{c:rating}}'>{{rating}}</font> <font color='{{c:kb}}'>{{kb:3}}</font> {{vehicle}}",

Personally I colored eff and rating the same because it would be a huge mess of different colors for me otherwise.

It sounds like you changed the Players Panels, but not the other two.
