I just installed the newb-mod pack from the OP, and my shot/damage record is all smooshed up in the corner and overlapping with what I assume is system time. I'm pretty sure there's a way to shift everything around, but I don't know what it is. I should probably stop being lazy and figure out how to install XVM at some point too. e: I must be doing something wrong. I extracted XVM 3.3.1 to my game folder like the readme said, installed Dokan V6.0, and installed Hellsau's config file, but I'm still not getting anything except the damage tracker and a little "XVM 3.3.1" line on the map loading screen. With the Type T-34, I've noticed that by researching the light and medium tanks that come off it you get the radio and engine, respectively. In other words, you can elite the tank for ~9,000 xp less than advertised. That said, is it worthwhile to research these modules on the Type T-34? I'm uncertain right now as to where I stand on it, as while it might be redundant and somewhat of a waste, it's more xp for what I'm planning on having as one of my tank crews.

In other words, you can elite the tank for ~9,000 xp less than advertised. Having the upgraded engine be the next tank's elite engine is a feature of the Soviet tree that the T-34->Type 58 transition obviously inherits. New thread, new SerBfacts![]() The Chinese Stuart and American Stuart have different weights and horse power. SerB says that the Chinese data is more correct. The American engine is going to be changed in the future, but that will lead to the entire tank being rebalanced. The task of letting the player exclude maps is technically difficult, and they haven't started on it yet (but they're thinking about it really hard). For technical reasons, modules can't be shared between tech trees (Soviet/Chinese guns, French/German engines). This will never change. Stock configurations aren't considered very much when balancing tanks. No new equipment is currently planned. No new company tier limits are planned. There were tanks with rotating turrets where the gun could be aimed horizontally without rotating the turret, but they won't be in the game. Artillery might not be moved up in the currently existing order when trees are stretched out (perhaps addressing the Priest and M37 mixup?) Tank popularity is based on the amount of tanks that exist in the garage, not the amount of times they are driven in battle. Tank popularity is a secondary parameter in balancing. "No comment" on a third kind of vehicles, the two existing being regular (for grinding) and premium (for credit farming). The SU-85(i) premium was never intended for sale in the store. The SU-76(i) was. The tiers for either are not yet set. Setting someone on fire doesn't count towards the Bombardier medal. A ricocheting shell loses 10% of its penetration. German L/100 guns will not be used in the Daimler-Benz tree. Nothing else suitable for tier 5 was sent in by Chinese archives, aside from a T-34. All nations are balanced in terms of win rate. Tier 10 Chinese heavy and medium, added up, make the Object 167M (which the Chinese had no knowledge of). (Who was the guy that said they were randomly handed out stock/upgraded modules? Good guess!) The Soviets will get low tier tanks with a DShK 12.7mm machine gun. AA tanks and amphibious tanks won't be put in the game in the observable time frame (drat, no T-90 to troll pubbies with). Serene Coast is currently under the watchful eye of the maps department for being too linear (the minimum amount of approaches through a map should be 3, Serene Coast only has two). The tank's icon in the garage is the closest possible configuration to historical. There aren't enough Canadian tanks to form a tree. Canadian tanks will most likely be added as a part of the British tree, like the tanks of all dominions and colonies of the Empire. Arty limits will be raised accordingly in Company battles once the trees are stretched out. Dragon's Ridge and Serene Coast will be excluded from random game rotation in patch 0.8.4 Q: Mr SerB, you are somewhat of a legend among the forum posters! There are even photographs of you making obscene gestures that get posted! How do you feel about that? A: I don't give a gently caress. ![]() Q: Dear SerB, is the project so unprofitable that you're constantly cutting tank income? A: Dear players, are your hands so crooked that you're constantly seeing decreased income? Q: You said <whining> A: Go buy a book on formal logic. They should have something about "cause and effect", this should be useful in life. Q: Can we include limits for scouts in tier 10 games? A: drat it, I knew that once we made it known that we can limit stuff they'll be asking us to limit everything! Q: When will you buff the gun on the 113? A: Post 1, Update 3, 14 day RO. Q: I didn't read the whole thread, but... A: That's easily corrected. Will 14 days be enough? Q: I heard a rumour that Wargaming is going to retire BigWorld and make a new engine! Sorry to clutter the thread with my XVM mishaps, but does anyone know why sometimes the stats for other players won't load, or loads sporadically? Additionally, how can I move the damage listing? If the connection to the stat server times out, you will only see the cached statistics, usually only your own.

The Chi-Ha is kinda hilarious, I ran it stock for a couple of games and the basic 57mm gun on it is probably one of the oddest guns. Its a low velocity howitzer style gun, so the AP and HE shells have a similar penetration value, but the HE does 20-30 more damage. The pen is stupidly low, but with all the Chinese and Brit tanks floating around, that isn't too big an issue. But, the top end 47mm is too good not to use so there isn't a reason to stick around with the stock gun, but its kinda neat. Also, the Chi-Ha is a incredible step up from the lovely tier 2 tank, goddamn that thing is terrible.

I've never driven the T-34, so the Type T-34 is coming as quite a surprise. In tier 5 and 6 games it absolutely just machineguns the poo poo out of everything. I've had at least 4 5+ kill games tonight, and probably averaging about 3. The armor's poo poo and the lack of gun depression sucks, but you have a great little gun that shoots every 2 seconds and in general the pubs at those tiers are so bad they'll just sit there and get mauled. Given the posts earlier about the effectiveness of BiA / Vents, I did a little digging and came across this guide that examines the actual numbers. It seems legit, but I haven't looked too much into it. Do the numbers check out? Is this common sense stuff I should know by now? The gist of it is: -Stats displayed on a module are accurate when a crew member is at 100% -When a crew member is at 100% (ie 91 + 9, or 100 + 0), stats are accurate -When a crew member is at 110% (100 + 10), they perform ~4% better than the listed stats -With Vents or BiA, at 116% (100 + 11 + 5), the perform ~7% better -With both Vents and BiA, at 121% (100 + 11 + 10), they perform ~9% better -With Vents, BiA and Food, at 132% (100 + 12 + 20), they perform ~14% better. So it seems that each +5 to your crew's stats provides a ~2.5% actual bonus to all your stats. It’s not common sense, Wargaming never gives the exact numbers, and goons who have many thousands of battles get into arguments about it about it all the time. It’s like the Monty Hall Paradox of WoT. Don’t feel bad for assuming 5% crew skill = 5% stat boost, because that, though wrong, is the common sense interpretation, and Wargaming doesn’t give the actual numbers anywhere. They’ve been reverse engineered.

I just got more XP for a game where I put a single low-roll killing shot into a T-62A in my Type 59 (140 damage, spotted 57) than one where I did 1,440 damage and spotted about 100 against tanks in my own tier. I think I have gained a new understanding of pubbie behaviour. They want to poach high-tier kills for easy XP rather than actually carry their loving weight.
