How often do you guys capture aliens on Classic/Impossible? I rarely get more than one per mission since it seems far too dangerous to leave enemies alive for the extra turn it takes to get a soldier with an arc thrower close enough.

This is the only turn based strategy game I've played other than Civilization and Alpha Centauri and I'm loving it. Is there anything that's similar, but less demanding on the hardware, that I can play on the laptop?

100% not true.

Starting squad is assigned one of each class, but they may not all survive.
If you have none of a class new promotions are *slightly* weighted toward it.
Otherwise it's an equal chance for every class. No heed is given to what the character does. If you level up by shooting a guy or picking your nose, same odds.

Is it only if you have none of a class? Or if I have say 5 Supports and 10 of everything else, will I be more likely to get a Support? I was hiring rookies by the dozens just to get supports I could send to the test chamber on my last game, and firing any low level supports that failed the test, in the hope the game would be more likely to send me more.
