After another left we went on to win a very easy 3v5.

Trying to unwind with a bot game, only for three of your bots to feed juggernaut bot 20 kills in 30 minutes is the worst thing.

The abandon doesn't come until 5 minutes after the drop occurs, which is why there's a 5 minute window to get first blood after the drop. I guess if you drop, and then later on the person who dropped his the "Leave Game" button to force the abandon, that would take place immediately. But in general when people have dropped, it usually takes 5 minutes before the abandon occurs.

I'm glad Troll Warlord is out and all, but he's no Tusk .Also I love that we now have a definite stance from Valve regarding DBR. Those guys at Dotabuff claimed they talked with Valve but either they didn't or they went against Valves wishes

ThePineapple posted:I'm getting pretty frustrated with this game. Coming off of Starcraft, I started playing dota hoping it would be a more relaxing/fun (but still competitive) game, but I'm as frustrated with dota now as I got to be with starcraft. Worrying about your overall winrate is dumb. Also, to your teammates their mistakes probably look minimal to the mistakes they perceive you making. It's how it goes. As a support: Most supports have ranged autoattacks. Early game this is one of your most important tools and you should use it as much as possible. Harass, trade hits, attack and deny your own creeps to affect creep equilibrium, and soften up creeps under the tower for your carry(ranged creeps take 2 tower shots + 2 hits). Harassing enemies can be important because if their health is lower then going aggressive starts to look less attractive. Following that same idea, staying topped off makes agression against you harder. Tranquil Boots, Headdress on the support, Tangos and Salves all help keep your rear end in the lane. If you need to there's nothing wrong with ferrying extra regen to yourself in the lane. Pulls: Pulls can be a big source of xp and gold for supports if you babysit the pull and lasthit the neutrals. Stacking and pulling is the most reliable way, but the most profitable way to do pulls is to do a double (or triple!) pull and actively try and kill as many camps as possible with one pulled wave. If you stack the medium pull camp several times, pulling is very easy and doesn't require you to stay there but it's not very profitable. Pulls have a couple of effects on the lane: -The carry needs to deal with the wave hitting the tower by kiting or pulling it further back. QB helps out lasthit the tower, Stout (for melee) & Tranqs help protect their health from being chipped away by creep attacks. It takes some practice to be able to lasthit under your tower well and carry players might not be used to it. -Puts you further away from ally, possibly out of range to help in time or be helped. This is more of a concern against a very dangerous lane. If you can't prevent them from coming over and stealing your pull then you only got the creep equilibrium shift out of it. If they can kill your carry without you there to protect him then obviously you can't afford to be a screen away doing a pull. -Because the enemy wave is hitting your tower it can cause a lot of tower damage if you're not careful. Don't do a pull when a large enemy wave is already pushing, you'll probably just lose your tower. Carry Play: When to fight depends on if you can make a difference. If you're just going to be another warm body for the great mid standoff of '13 then gently caress that, go farm. Do you feel strong? Can your team counterpush well enough to not lose the tower? It depends on a lot of things but here's an easy example: You were laning KotL + PL. The enemy team starts pushing mid with 3 or more. You're at Tranqs + SR + halfway to Diffusal. Your lane isn't scary because one or both of them are part of that middle push. What should you do? Send KotL over there to blast the push down and stall it indefinitely, and carry a TP to join in if a fight does break out. Take the opportunity to farm and/or counterpush your lane as hard as you can while the teams are occupied. Sometimes you have to be selfish and get your farm up before you show up to fights.

If a guy disconnects at 1 minute he will get the abandon at 6 minutes and the game will not count even if the first blood occurred in the interim.
