So I tried team mm for the first time with a pretty casual group and we went up against a jugg that went for a 20 minute battlefury against a 4 minute midas naix. Needless to say this happened: http://dotabuff.com/matches/186685799 It felt just like normal MM except some of the typical ap instalock heroes were banned out. I expect to get stomped in the next game but it's pretty neat to run optimal lanes and mimic the competitive meta. Rise fucked around with this message at May 2, 2013 around 21:58 |

Death Bot posted:I'm trying to remember the game this happened in, but I remember watching a pro game recently where a team was doing alright and just mass-bought Dagon, and team fights were just ridiculous stomps because 2-3 people would just instantly die as they started. I've done this back when I had a 5 stack to play with in HoN. It's pretty freaking hilarious, though not unbeatable, and capable of backfiring. Namely I remember one game that we all got codex(dagon), got a few ganks in, and won the first teamfight. We then lost the next teamfight due to being badly initiated on. From there, the enemy team had enough money, so everyone on their team had hood of defiance, one pipe, and at least two bkbs on their teamfight aoe heros.. That's about the time that we realized we had lost our advantage. Matlock Birthmark fucked around with this message at May 2, 2013 around 21:41 |

scrooger posted:Most of this info is pretty poor. You need treants at 1 to pull creeps to your tower and you need wards assuming you aren't going against a solo safe. Starting items should not be 3 clarity pots, you don't have a spammable nuke the gently caress are you spending all that money on. This may be true, I was sharing my experience as a semi-noob down in Normal bracket. At my skill level pulling the creep wave isn't something that is 100% necessary (and certainly not something that can't wait until level 2). Also in order for Prophet to get a Midas early in lane someone else should probably be buying the wards for you. Three clarities might be overkill but they ensure that you'll never have a problem having enough mana for sprouting or for summoning treants. Again, this might not be a perfect build that will take you all the way to The International, but it is something that works well for me and that should be a good starting point for someone learning Furion now.

I had a HoN game once where we stomped the other team so hard that everyone on our team purchased a fullly upgraded Codex (on top of their core items, it was a late-game decision) and pushed their base in. After we had megacreeps we spent a few minutes fountain farming and instantly nuking half their team dead. Eventually we got too cocky, ended up getting teamwiped at their fountain, and the enemy team pushed up mid and won before we could respawn. Good lord I miss the heyday of HoN

How does Tombstone zombie spawning work?

SUPER NEAT TOY posted:How does Tombstone zombie spawning work? Every three seconds for the duration of the Tombstone (up to 30 seconds) zombies will spawn. The zombies have a passive which reduces move speed, and the auras stack. If you get below a certain amount of HP the zombies' attack speed and movement speed go up. e: Slightly related, but you can use Soul Rip to heal the Tombstone if people are attacking it.

Patch delayed. Understandable, with SIX updates to the test client fixing Elder Titan. Shame the Batrider sight bug didn't get fixed though.

So what are you supposed to do if the enemy runs a trilane that completely crushes your offlane? My suggestion was to instead of feeding them roam and help us win the other two lanes decisively. Windrunner was offended by this and decided to come to my lane, take my cs, and just afk farm instead of warding or team fighting or doing anything supports should be doing. I didn't think the idea of leaving a lane when it isn't working would piss somebody off.

Requested_Username posted:It's a suppression item. You use it when you're already ahead to keep the other team down, so the earlier the better, and if you're behind you should almost never get it. Cheers! I'll look to build it in future games perhaps. Ahhpple posted:Here's the Na'vi game, featuring Skeleton King as well. I loved the brief spate where Dignitas would pick Skeleton King and then the other team ignored him because hey, it's Skeleton King, what's he going to do? Those were good days for Dota 2.

At the same time though, this was also when Force Staff granted IAS and damage instead of the health regen, so you could play him as an aggressive early carry by going treads armlet force and then just catching people out and hitting them hard. Unfortunately, that brief window got sealed shut very quickly.
