Had a hockey game of my own last night so heard the last three goals scored on the Flames in the car on the way to it. We lost to a team playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, 2nd game of a back to back, have injury problems and signing problems, had scored no goals in the previous three games. Flames hockey. Hudler and Cervenka looked good, that's about it, they even managed to make Stajan look good. This team is a dumpster fire.

Anyone here know the story of PK Subban pulling a Dion Phaneuf and forcing the locker room to listen to his music? I've seen this pop up on article comments three times now and I don't ever recall hearing about it. Almost sounds like Subban is now getting blamed for everything.

If I recall correctly, Carey was also forcing country music on everyone.

It's amazing how many people know exactly what PK is like in the locker room, how he treats his teammates and what his teammates think of him. e: From practice lines the media is guessing White will still play Saturday but Kaberle may not. Good, although I think White getting a game off might be a good idea. evenworse username fucked around with this message at Feb 1, 2013 around 16:57 |

Also funny how PK carries more reputation baggage for a loud iPod or yapping on the ice than Dany Heatley does for, like, killing a teammate on a joyride. Hockey!

99% of hockey players have terrible taste in music so maybe PK was doing everyone a favor

There's some big difference between Subban and Heatley to explain how people treat Subban that I am struggling to put my finger on. I feel like I'm close to figuring it out, though- like maybe I am 3/5ths of the way there.

So with Thornton being out for 7-10 due to a concussion from a fight, will the NHL ever ban fighting? Just flat out eject and suspend people who fight.

A couple of years ago I'd have been all "hell no!" Now I say get rid of it. It's a stupid spectacle that's likely taking years off of lives. Knowing what we do now its barbaric beyond belief to continue to allow it. Make it 5 and a game. First fight is free, every fight after gets you an increasingly large suspension. I'd like my children to never know hockey with fighting.

It's part of the game in a way which differs greatly from things they're trying to get rid of. Thornton took a right on his ear early on and that was about it for the fight. Get well soon, Thorty

Aphrodite posted:No, everyone knows John Scott can punch. He's not a very good fighter though. What makes you think that? I mean he knows he's a big dude and has reach and he uses it often. He fights based on his abilities. Fighting rules. The only thing I'd wish they'd curtail is the stupid 'hurr hurr, let me jump this player who delivered a big clean hit to my teammate!' That should be an instigator every drat time. Thankfully that has happened more than once this season. Other than that, I love fighting. I was at that Rangers-Devs triple threat death match game last year. I've gone to a bunch of hockey over the years and that was honestly one of the coolest games ever just because of the tone set at the start. Premeditated face off fights are awesome, screw all that bs surrounding that. The only comparable would be the 'We can't hear you game'. That might have been #1 if the Gabby didn't poo poo the bed
