THREE STAR RECRUIT

rip bama's title hopes
9/1/12-11/10/12

-Rudy Gay traded to Toronto for one (1) future
-Nick Van Exel's son officially killed that guy
-Russell Westbrook got mad
-The Lakers are still bad and the Clippers are still good and things look to stay this way forever and ever
-New Orleans only 9 games back for a playoff spot, go Pelicans

1 - I didn't know you could even get a Tayshaun Prince jersey
2 - Tayshaun Prince is such a weird player to be a fan of
3 - It's an away game for Detroit, too, isn't it?
4 - He's the ONLY PERSON not only excited about the players' entrance but seemingly the only one acknowledging that it's even happening. The rest of them are watching Mike Hammer re-runs in the distance.

Yeah, it was an away game against the Pacers.

And I completely agree with #2. Although, in retrospect, him ruining T-Mac's confidence after the "it's great to be in the second round" is funny.

If Prince didn't play McGrady so well in those couple of playoff games, I'm convinced he'd have been out of the league a few years ago. Detroit would've drafted Carmelo and Prince would have just faded away like most every player drafted at his position and under his circumstances. Not to shortchange him; he's done well and he wasn't terrible throughout his career or anything. But he never would've gotten that chance again.

I lived in Michigan during the entirety of the Pistons run of the 2000s and Tayshaun was always extremely popular among fans. I'm assuming that's why they overpaid to keep him around during this rebuild. He was extremely popular with the ladies too. My dad told me a hilarious story once that he was out on a business dinner and Tayshaun had a booth at the restaurant and was having dinner with three gorgeous women. He left with all three of them under his long arms. Like I said, he was very popular with the Michigan ladies.

Wasn't that trade seriously out of left field? I imagine Prince was one of the last guys anyone would expect to be traded from the Pistons. I imagine that guy never even gave it a thought that Prince would not be there. I actually feel really bad for that guy. Not only is he a Pistons fan, but his favorite player is traded the day he is able to see them play live for maybe the only time of the year? That's rough.

I'd like to believe there was a guy with a Luke Walton jersey who reacted like this last year when he got traded to Cleveland. A man can dream though.

They might've been focused on the tunnel entrance and just stumbled onto the guy. It's the Detroit feed of the game

If it was setup they sure got the jersey/final 4 shirt in a hurry. It is possible though.

Yeeeah, that made him look like a giant loving baby. I watched the original play and Durant was wide open for 3 for a couple seconds then it looks like he just kinda figured Westbrook wasn't going to bother passing it back out. Hell, Thabo cut through the lane and could have had a good shot. That one's all on Westbrook.

My wife is extremely upset about the trade and is threatening to stop watching the Pistons now. She was the other person to have purchased a Tayshaun Prince jersey. I think we'll be ok once we get to see Calderon play with Drummond.

I think he really judges basketball players by how good they are at "creating their own shot" which Calderon doesn't really do.

I feel like Prince is a player who faded away with age so quickly that sometimes folks kind of downplay his earlier days. I mean, out of the league? I feel like he could have floated by on his general D alone, although maybe I'm giving him too much credit because I hope he contributes to Memphis.

How many shots do you think I should take?

I like the Russell Westbrook that blocks mascots' shots and lip syncs to Kesha, not the one that screams and cries because Thabo cut to the basket at the wrong time. I also miss James Harden real bad.
