ESPN College Gameday Schedule this month:

Feb 2 Bloomington, Ind. 10 a.m. & 8 p.m. Michigan at Indiana 9 p.m.
Feb 9 South Bend, Ind. or Cincinnati^ 10 a.m. & 8 p.m. L'ville at Notre Dame or
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati 9 p.m.#
Feb 16 Lawrence, Kan. 10 a.m. & 8 p.m. Texas at Kansas 9 p.m.
Feb 23 Lexington, Ky. 10 a.m. & 8 p.m. Missouri at Kentucky 9 p.m.

The title is thanks to noted shitbird or saint (depending on if you are a Louisville fan) Pat Forde who tried a gotcha article on Shabazz Muhammad owning a Gucci backpack. This led to a hilarious series of tweets from Shabazz' sister telling Forde how petty and vindictive he is.

Conference schedule is now in full swing so look forward to tears from Big 10 fans who come together to hate uber lich Bo Ryan, the only man who scores less than your average goon.

Gaddy isn't even that bad. Mediocre, I guess, and is too slow to drive to the hoop and is a lovely jump shooter, and... Well, yeah, he blows, but not historically so

Bobby Frasor? The guy averaged like 2 points a game for his career at UNC, something like that, I just remember thinking when he was a senior "How in the world did someone this bad get those honors back in the day?"

edit: His Wikipedia page tells me he had multiple foot injuries. That sucks. Don't remember that. Sorry to call you out, Bobby.

Here's my once-yearly post in the NCAABB thread to mention how dead Houston basketball is -

- Last tournament appearance in 2010
- Last Sweet Sixteen in 1984
- Two top 100 recruits and a quality Juco transfer
- 13-7 record
- No wins vs RPI top 150, 5 losses
- 1-0 vs Division III (Louisiana College)
- Highest RPI team beat - #167 UAB
- Lowest RPI team beat - #329 Florida A&M
- RPI of 222
- SOS of 347 (dead last in the country)
- OOC SOS of 347 (dead last in the country)
- 2-5 in a potential 1-bid Conference USA
- Lost by 10 to 4-15 Rice last night

How the gently caress did this team recruit one 5* and one 4* last year? Oh yeah, and this gets to enter Big East play next year. Great idea hiring noted junior high coach James Dickey.

I'll be on my way now.

James Keefe

Managed an impressive 2.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in his senior year, while playing 16 minutes a game. At least he was good on defense to make up for it and warrant his 16 minutes every game.

Oh wait no he was loving awful on defense too. God we've had some disappointing players recently...

Ivan Harris has to be on the short list. What a loving waste. He was also unfathomably slow for a wing player.

Gaddy isn't bad I suppose but just tremendously average. His freshman year there was Overton and Isaiah Thomas so people said wait for him to develop. Sophomore year he blew out his ACL during a layup drill in practice. Last year the whole team sucked. This year the team is still terrible and is the slowest UW team since Romar came here.

http://www.basketball-reference.com.../mcdonalds.html

Here is the all time McDonald's list. There are some guys like Taymon Domzalski who went to Duke and stayed at the end of the bench for their whole career but in this argument I would narrow it to guys who at least got burn. As time goes on you would assume that evaluation of players improves and most McDonald's AA guys make it to the pros but it was just an offhand observation at the end of another mindnumbing bonehead play by Gaddy.

I can recall being broke with some friends in Tennessee and deciding to have a party and being able to afford only two-fifths of a $1.75 bourbon called Two Natural, whose label showed dice coming up 5 and 2. Its taste was memorable. The psychological effect was also notable.

There goes another very winnable game for the Gamecocks. This one hurts -- partially because it's Georgia, mostly because these opportunities are hard to come by for this team. UGA did just about all they could to keep us in the game, but we were unable to back up a good offensive play with a stop on the other end, and then eventually our offense went cold as well.

Tuesday night's game against Kentucky is going to be hilarious. I'm looking forward to my trip to Rupp regardless.

'Widdle' DN Nation's posts in the political cartoons thread are unreasonably annoying and he should stop posting there.

ESPN was wrong that this was Georgia's first 3-game SEC winning streak since the Harrick Era; the Dawgs actually did it in 2011 (with an OOC loss mixed in the middle). Still, though, that was the only time since then. Yeesh.

I dare say, though, that there were times in the USC win today that Georgia played a brand of basketball that nearly resembled competence. Baby steps.

Seriously though one of the most amazing stats I've ever heard is that Bill Self has more conference titles at Kansas than he does home losses (that was before this loss and I don't know if it changes things or not).

I was pretty down after KU lost. I was walking to the store right after the buzzer sounded and went down the one-way street where I lived (in Lawrence). I saw at least three cars almost wreck in two blocks, changing lanes without checking and backing out of their parking lot with other cars screeching to a stop. Everyone gets really upset/crazy when KU loses at home, I guess.

That said, holy poo poo OSU took it to KU today. I already knew Marcus Smart was good, but man, he's real good. McLemore played out of his mind today, but Elijah Johnson was too busy dribbling the ball off his foot to pass it to him. Hopefully he finally gets benched after this abomination of a game.

BigSexyWitGlasses

he's got that look in his eye

Vols lost by 13 points to Arkansas and turned it over about 20 times. Really simple analysis today. Cuonzo Martin's motion offense works when Vols take care of the ball. They just fail to do that too often. It's really hard to shoot nearly 50% and score 60 points But the Vols have done it before. Turnover numbers are staggering. That whole "1-of-2" thing at the free-throw line doesn't really help the Vols, either. Jarnell Stokes, Kenny Hall and Derek Reese shot a combined 14-of-17 today. The rest of the Vols were 7-of-31.

Anyways, If Florida continues to shoot and then D up like this ... they really might be the national champ.

Eh, the only common team UF and Michigan faced was KState. Michigan won and UF Lost. Voters won't take that into account though.

Yeah, I would personally probably put Michigan at #2, but I think this is what the voters will do. There's just been a TON of hype around Florida this week. I can't even guess at what they'd do beyond the top 3, though.
