"....hey hon where did put the oreos and pretzels and wings? And could you fetch me another delicious ice cold Budweiser?"![]() Hey sorry pardner didn't see y'all there. You just caught me in the middle of my tailgating party. You see I'm having a tailgate and I'm hoping you'll tail a gate with me as we look forward to ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWnP4li8pZI (please play this video while reading the rest of the op) Last year we had a great time discussing the premiere event in gridiron franchise supersport and I'm hoping this year it's even bigger and better. Post about how you're anticipating the big 'bowl. Maybe some recipes or tips for a great tailgate. Maybe you could explain the rules again to me, Pissflaps, as I struggle to stay awake (i't on very late here, to be fair). Please keep all gendered insults to a minimum (a trigger warning would be appreciated) but don't let me clip your posting wings. This is your superbowl and your superbowl thread. It's a thread for you to post posts in. But before we post, lets learn...... wikipedia posted:Super Bowl XLVII is an upcoming American football game between the American Football Conference (AFC) champion Baltimore Ravens and the National Football Conference (NFC) champion San Francisco 69ers to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 2012 season. It will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 3, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. Central Standard Time. Thanks Wikipedia. ![]() The Baltimore Ravens are on the most multi storied franchises in sports. I went to Baltimore once and checked out the aquarium so that's who I'll be rooting for and I can't guarantee that the rest of this OP will be impartial. The Balt's are a dead cert for the cup I think. I think they'll win it this year in New Orleans. ![]() This logo sucks. This logo belongs to the San Francisco 49rs (fortyniners for short) A bad start to a franchise with hardly any stories to be told. And I think they'll be going back to san francisco with their 'tail' between their legs. What does the 49 stand for anyway? 49 ways to be bad?. We all had a great posting time in last year's thread. Lets keep it nice and friendly and not let our passion for the sport run away with us. I'll level with you I don't 'get' this sport but I'm willing to give it yet another go. What I'm trying to say is...if I can change...and you can change...everybody can change! I just want to say one thing to my kid...who should be home sleeping. Merry Christmas, kid! I love you! So without further adieu... hut ![]() HUT ![]() HUT ![]() POST

The 49ers were named for the gold rush that happened in California in 1849. They are a storied and successful franchise with many Super Bowl victories. I think the puppy bowl is at half time.

Also iirc the Ravens mascot is an homage to Edgar Allen Poe who I think hailed from the area but I may have just made all that up.

Anyway, I hope Troy Hernandez tends the goal line to stop those Bay Area touchdowns for Baltimore. e: Oops, sorry bout that I just checked and the guards don't actually stand at the goalline.

Hegav posted:which of these teams are the NFL equivalent to Manchester United? if anything the 49s are because they have won all the titles, but SF is a cool team not a bunch of cunts, and the manager/coach is a young gun so it doesn't quite work. The Ravens are equivalent to the MK Dons but with a super-stinkyhole self righteous linebacker who murdered a guy and takes tons of roids. They are originally the team from Cleveland that never won a title, then they moved to Baltimore and won a title. You should not be rooting for them under any circumstances.
