Hey everybody, I'm Waka Flocka Flame and this is my third log thread! Stats: 5'9 on a tall day BW 192~ Lifts: Squats 320x5 CG Bench 190x5 Deadlifts ???? None of those are true maxes, just my current training max PRs. I don't know my deadlift numbers because I currently don't have enough plates to do an appropriate 5 rep max ![]() took this today before my workout, lol at my incredibly messy desk I've been training for 3 years now and despite doing every possible thing wrong I've made some pretty cool gains! Totally self trained yadda yadda. I used to be 125 and literally had difficulty walking for longer than 10 minutes at a time and now there's pretty much nothing I love more than fitness. Come and join me on my journey to get even Last log I didn't have to have a toxx but I'm gonna do one for this log anyway. 210 by January 1st 2014 or this account gets banned. Gonna post Friday and today's workout in a sec.

Friday Intensity Day Squats 135x5,5,5 185x5 245x5 285x1 320x5 PR! Easy poo poo CG bench 45xlots 95xuh 115x5 135x5 165x3 195x3,2 somehow hit the safeties on my third rep coming out of the hole and it ruined the whole set!!! 155xI dont remember 135x5,5,5,5 random form work Volume Day Monday Squats 135x5,5 185x5 235x5 265x5,5,5,5,5 volume day PR! CG bench, paused the first and last reps sometimes just pausing the whole sets 45xa bunch 95xmany 115x5 135x5 155x5 170x5,5,5,9+f,5 The fourth set was a rep PR 155x9 135x11 Pullups Curls 5 sets DC stretches Friday was definitely a little off. Kind of a stressful week leading up to it and I didn't get to do recovery day. Squats still felt good but my bench was still really off. Today volume day felt fantastic! 265 on the squats moved really well and I wasn't experiencing that weird feeling like my quads were gonna tear off like the last two weeks. Very fast and stable except I did lose my balance on one rep and still got it. I didn't increment my bench up from last week to work on form and keep myself honest. I'm altering how I set up a little bit by arching less and it seems to really help keep me more stable. It felt super locked in on my fourth work set and before I knew it I was just repping it out. I was pretty close to getting 10 but my triceps just died. Weird high rep bench day. Felt really strong. Doing more curls because I want my arms to keep making ridiculous growth. Surely I can expect the same amount of growth I experienced over the last two months forever and I will have 20 inch arms by the end of the year

Pointsman posted:gently caress yeah, new log. Recovery Day poo poo Squats 135x5,5,5 185x5 225x5,5 cut this short cause i wanted to do some pullin today CG bench 45xlots 95xalso lost 115x5 135x5 155x5,5,5,5 felt unstable as gently caress, monday really beat me down Light Dadlifts 135xlike 8 setsxlots 225xmany sets 315x1,1,1,1,1 Gittin it in. Squats and bench felt appropriately awful due to Monday's beatdown. I had a vague idea that I wanted to post up a video tutorial of sorts explaining how to properly leverage yourself against the bar on the deadlift, but when I was doing it today I couldn't help but notice how much different and alien the pull feels to me now so I gave up on that idea and just hosed around with my form to try to find a comfortable pull position. I guess gaining 20 pounds of mostly muscle primarily from squats/bench and zero deadlifting changes your leverages pretty heavily, who would have thought?! I didn't notice this the last couple times I pulled really but my grip feels really different because my drat hands are much thicker than they used to be. I can't close my hands around the barbell nearly as well as I used to. Before I just attributed it to reduced grip strength but it's actually a lot better than it was before from the daily pullups it just feels Weird to hold and it took me several tries to figure out how to make it work. Also what feels like the most comfortable and powerful stance for me is way wider than I used to pull. This is definitely something I'm gonna need to work on, and I think I'm gonna actually reintroduce deadlifts to my volume day but keep the weight super light, like the exact same as my squat weight, and just focus on getting back into the swing. The added volume for my posterior chain and upper back will be nice if anything. I will say that despite the weirdness, I feel like I'm using less back than I used to, which I believe will be better in the long run.

I'm really glad I was able to squat at all this intensity day because I strained my groin pretty good squatting too deep on Wednesday, which struck me as I was walking into a friends apartment and I had to stop and double over from the pain Bench was okay. I had to throw it up and really gently caress with my form to get my last rep of 195 to lockout, which is unacceptable. I'm gonna keep my Monday bench weight at 170 again and then drop my Friday weight to 190 and do it super controlled, not just a small pause at the first and last rep but a long one. I feel like much of the reason I'm making such good squat progress is because my reps are so consistent and I need to continue emulating that for my bench or else I quickly plateau. well cya!!

hello thread Volume Day boi Squart 135x5,5 185x5 235x5 265x5,5,5,5,5 CG banch 45xlots 95x5 115x5 135x5 155x5 paused all reps for all sets before this 170x5,5,5,5,5 2-3 second pauses on first and last rep 155x5 135x5 all reps paused Band pushdowns 3xfailure, ow gently caress Deadlifts 135x5,5 185x5 225x5 265x5 reintroducing very slowly bicep curls 5 sets Good volume day today, got good work in all around. Deadlifts still feel weird and unnatural, weight moves fast and everything just feels like the balance is off and the bar hand thing is still weird. I'll add more sets soon. All the pausing on my bench, oh my god my triceps augh gently caress. My triceps were definitely super roasted, then I decided to do pushdowns until I couldn't feel them anymore. I then did the DC triceps stretch and I was legitimately worried at some point that my tricep was gonna tear off. Pretty neat and all but I should probably take it easy on that stretch. Squats still feeling good. 265 still felt like a good training weight, and I'm sure the extra volume on the deads will stimulate a lil somethin extra for friday. In very cool news I recently stopped focusing on moving the scale up for a couple weeks now and have focused on eating cleaner and more protein (which was already really high) and I'm definitely significantly leaner! I'm still 191 in the morning but my abs are comin back. Very cool stuff. It got me thinking about how I've approached diet and what's really worked for me and my sort of natural tendencies to have very fast, short periods of growth followed by maintenance. If there's any interest I was thinking about posting up a sort of vlog style video of me talkin' about it. Something to add a little content to this log other than pages and pages of words. ![]() fatty vs. not as fatty. The cool thing is I was barely trying. I actually ate a super donut that's called a "Gigantor" which is literally like a dozen donuts in one super donut and washed it down with beer in 4 minutes the other day. I was training for a food competition my girlfriend's work hosts. The time was lovely and I have to beat 2 minutes 30 seconds to get the record, but I was stifled because I could not stop laughing at how ridiculous it was to be eating giant donuts for time. Still I guess most people vomit after eating it but I felt completely fine and actually ate a hamburger after.

Oh yeah here's a picture of the kind of poo poo I've been eating. Meal 1: 2 scoop protein shake in whole milk directly at waking Meal 2: 5 jumbo eggs and 2 strips of turkey bacon Meal 3: 2 scoop protein shake in whole milk PWO Meal 4: 1 pound of 93% ground beef dipped in bbq sauce with a baked potato Meal 5: Some chicken Then throughout the day about 3/4ths of a gallon of whole milk in total. I don't know what the protein is but it's probably pretty good.

sup yall Recovery day very horrible lifts. did a million stretches though and felt a ton better Intensity Day!!! Squats 135x5,5 185x5 245x5 275x1 300x1 330x5 PR! CG bench 45xbunch 95x5 115x5 135x5 165x3 190x4+f doh. was really strict on these reps though Curls and stretches and all that accessory garbage Tough lifting session. Got crummy sleep last night because I was up till 4 with my GIRLFRIEND as she was getting ready to go on a trip till Tuesday Squats moved okay but not where I wanted them to be. Form breakdown on my last 2 reps so I had some knee caving in action. Other than that though the speed was fast and my back was at a good angle. I would definitely say I was stronger last week but I still got the PR anyway. I had to put more gas into the lift and get my head into it but I didn't go full on ADRENALINE MODE. I still got some burst blood vessels on my chest and neck, cool phenomenon. Bench obviously wasn't great. I was a ton happier with how the weight moved with the 190 set but I wasn't bringing my full strength to bear today. I could have gotten 5 with bullshit reps but I'm not interested in that. This week blew rear end training wise. Monday was a good workout but I simply wasn't recovering from it. It's a great idea to increase training volume with deadlifts and more direct tricep work when I'm not getting in enough calories!!! With my new dietary approach I was taking I "maintained" a little too hard and fat has been falling off too fast. What this means is I'm more on the end of caloric deficit than surplus/maintenance. This would be fine if I wanted to lose weight and get all ripped up and feathered or w/e but that's not my priority right now. Gonna reintroduce some really calorie dense kinda-sorta junk into my cleaner maintenance diet on a more consistent basis, like peanut butter after most meals and as always way too much milk.

ungh Volume Day Squats 135x5,5 225x5 245x5 270x5,5,5,5,5 volume day PR Bench 45x20 95x19 135x10 155x7 170x5,5 paused first and last reps from this weight to 145 165x5 155x6 145x5 135x7 paused first and last 3 reps 115x13 ungh Weighted pullups 3x3 +20 felt pretty easy actually Curls 5 sets Very difficult workout. Squats were pretty loving rough but moved okay, was just not that fired up to squat and still felt a little under recovered. Bench doesn't look like it was a lot more work than the usual volume day but I was absolutely beyond destroyed doing them with that rep progression. Weirdly enough the weighted pullups felt not that much harder than regular pullups, but my lats were a lot more cooked?? yeah idk In very cool fashion I started feelign sick almost immediately after I stopped doing my workout. At first I was just thinking "woo boy that was a suepr tough one!!" which it was but then poo poo progressed. I can usually expect to lose sleep on monday night because of general muscle pain/joint ache waking me up 2 or 3 times during the night but adding what I think is a cold on top of it just kicked things into overdrive and I literally did not sleep. I already experience quite a bit of sleep disturbance no matter what I do but being both sick and achey just hosed everything up. I've also been barely able to eat which happens to me when I get poor sleep and when I'm sick, so yet another double whammy. It's a perfect storm of poo poo that individually doesn't negatively impact me too much, but together is super annoyingly debilitating. Looks like it's deload time!

Long time no see, thread! Friday Feb 22nd Squats worked up to one set of 225x5 Bench did like 8 sets of 135x5 pullups did some weighted and did 1x40 which is a pr weight I think, felt easy Week 1 of ~*new training cycle*~ volume day!! Squats 135xseveral 185x5 225x5 245x5,5,5,5,5 felt harder than it looked. felt out of shape... Bench 45xlots 95xlots 115x5 135x5 155x5,5,5,5,5 135x5,5,5,5,5 Pullups Several Various curls 4 sets, trying to find a movement with free weight that feels decent Super Babyweight 20 Rep DB curls 5 sets, tried to maintain doing 20 rep sets, fell off after the first 2 sets ss with DB overhead tricep extensions 5 sets, 20 reps per set Welp turns out I was loving sick as heck all week and was peeing out my butt all day from Monday - Friday night. Weighed in at 186 after all was said and done, 7 pound reduction. Very unhappy about that. I was still sick on Friday but I was super bound up from being in bed all day when I wasn't up crapping my brains out. Lost weight in my face and also my quads got a lot more separated but im not trying to cut goddamnit!!!!!!!!! Worked with my new reduced training weights for this training cycle. Squats moved easily and were fast but felt crummy, I just felt all out of breath and lovely doing them. gently caress getting sick. Bench felt heavy as heck, too. My bench form was initially very horrible but started feeling "right" again about mid way through my work sets. I did a million curls and my biceps are feeling good and sore today. I've decided I'm gonna go full on super high rep curls and extensions to keep growing my arms. My arms are a ton bigger than they were a few months ago and now I'm starting to get really excited to grow them bitches. 10 pound DBs all day baybay

Seeing as how my last couple weeks of training have been feeling increasingly harder mentally and physically, I decided that now would be the perfect time to reduce my working weights and work my way back up stronger. My current plan for this training cycle is as follows: ~*Phase 1*~ spend 5-6 weeks rebuilding up to the point I just deloaded from, taking it easy and keeping my joints and mind fresh. Wanna continue to focus on very clean, quality reps and muscle building in this period. I'll have plenty of reps in the tank on any given work day. ~*Phase 2*~ spend 5-6 weeks making constant PRs and pushing the limits, hopefully by the end I can hit my goal squat weight of 405x5 completely raw as a true max set (not a training max) I'm basically hoping to recapture the gains I made over the course of the last 4 months by starting light, training moderately, and focusing on recovery and managing stress. The cumulative stress of the constant PRs I've made lately was definitely starting to take it's toll. I won't be making new weight PRs for several weeks, but that's not the goal really for the meantime. I intend to keep my knees, back, and hips feeling bullet proof while working back up to my old weights so that I can beat the ever living gently caress out of myself again and push volume day squats up to 315x5x5 for fairly easy work sets. As for bench press I still don't really know what I'm going to end up doing. I'm going to attempt to use less weight in general on that lift and increment it really slowly. I find I hit a plateau with my bench weights really really fast if I increment it too much. My current idea is to do many sets of 5s as backoffs for extra training volume and then I'll do a lot of extra arm work and keep hammering pullups. We'll see how that works over the course of this training cycle.

Week 1 Reset Intensity Day Squats 135x5,5 225x5 275x1 300x5 felt good. did a light pause on all reps and longer pause on the last CG bench 45xlots 95x5 115x5 135x5 155x5 175x5 standard some weighted pullups with 15 pounds DB curls 15x20,20,17 getting used to this DB OH extensions 15x20,20 25x20,20 higher weight felt better, hello tri pump First week after the reset over, things moved pretty well! 300 felt heavy on my back, I imagine mostly because my body wasn't as primed to lift heavy. Last time I moved anything higher than 245 was before I got sick so I think it's an adaptation thing. It moved really smooth though, very controlled. Same difference with 175 on the bench. It felt heavier in my hands than it probably would have normally but it moved pretty well. I imagine next week I'll actually start feeling in shape again. The direct arm work is going great. I feel like I'm stimulating my arms more than ever and I swear I see some growth in the mirror although I know it's a little early for that. Excited to see where I'm at in a month or two.

Bench Many sets 135/155 Pullups 3 sets ARM AND DELT DESTRUCTION 3 sets Today Pullups Auuuuuuuuugh yeah. Weirdo do whatever week. Couldn't train Monday, had to deal with some very stressful relationship E/N and ended up getting no sleep for several days, barely ate. It's better now though! Decided to do something Tuesday but my focus was just shot, it felt like my CNS was roasted from a million super heavy singles. Stupid emotional stress. I wasn't even sore on Wednesday. I was thinking "I'll just do a lighter day Wednesday then try for a heavy widowmaker PR on thursday" but then I was like "gently caress it, I'm pumped to do it now" so I did it. At first I was scared that I wouldn't be able to do it and that I'd maybe hurt myself a lil bit but I absolutely loving decimated it, and did 1 rep after I got 20 just as a small "gently caress you" to my initial fear and lack of faith in myself. I put just a little bit of aggressiveness and adrenaline into it and I realize it's been so long since I've done that in training that I forgot just how much strength and power it adds. I realize now that if I can repeak something like 275-315 for 20 with solid form is very doable, probably within the next 3-4 months. I can't wait for that poo poo. Goddamn I love lifting weights. The giant set with the added Defranco pullaparts feels amazing. My ability to do the pullaparts is must greater than it used to be, which is a good sign that my shoulder stability and functionality has really improved. When I first tried them with the same band I could barely do sets of 3 My training mojo was pretty reduced for a bit there after I got food poisoning for 5 drat days and reset my weights, but now I feel like I'm back in full force mentally and ready to gently caress poo poo up. I decided I'm gonna do arms and delts every drat workout and keep hammerming my pullups which I've been lazy about. I'm also thinking of adding a fourth press only workout on Saturday. i can teach you how to look like that without lifting so much. the key is being able to look bloated and sweaty without actually exerting yourself. i practice this by thinking about how hard it is to perform basic movements like getting out of bed, going to the bathroom, and walking to the bus stop.

Sitting Bull posted:wicked beef volume my man! true volume day I've actually been eating in excess of a pound of ground beef a day the last few days. beefey babey The Wiggly Wizard posted:How much do you weigh these days dude? Same as always!! I weighed in at 191.5~ a few days ago. Still tiny. Recovery Day Squats A bunch with 135 CG bench a bunch with 135 Very lazy recovery day. Didn't get like any sleep, outside life stress carryover from Monday, said gently caress it lets just go super light. Definitely a very phoned in workout. I still feel a lot better after. High rep rack pulls worked. Cooked my forearms, traps, mid back, and lats but my lower back and hams feel fine. Kinda surprised by the lats but it's a good surprise. My traps used to completely dominate every other muscle on my upper body but since I haven't really trained any sort of pull for a long time they've just stayed the same and the rest of my muscles have caught up. This makes me sad so I'm gonna do the rack pulls every day to grow traps up to my ears and get popeye forearms.
