I'm just kind of getting into this kind of music, so gently caress yes thread! Early Pink Floyd and mid-to-late Beatles are what I'd consider the essentials, but I haven't really been involved in much discusison on it so I'm super excited to see what everyone else posts. I'm also currently addicted to Tame Impala, which I'm sure many people coming here are already familiar with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wycjnCCgUes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjeaW48wkPo

Noooooo don't die thread! I'm really liking the more pop-oriented stuff like Jacco and Foxygen. I'm not finding nearly as much experimental, instrumental pscyhedelic music like I'd attribute to early Pink Floyd, though. The closest thing I've found is this, which I stumbled upon in the music thread. It's fun and enjoyable, but still a far, far cry from A Saucerful of Secrets, though. Maybe I'm just setting the bar too high. I did like what I heard of Eternal Tapestry, at least. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK2898UEyRE In the meantime, have some Procol Harum. I'm sure someone out there hasn't heard of them. This leans prog, but back then I guess it was all just "rock and roll music." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mb3iPP-tHdA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmGaDL-mcs4 beatlegs posted:Anything by Foxygen is worthwhile also. I'm loving this band so far, thanks! Really, I just put off listening to them because, but someone I know on Spotify was listening to them so I thought I'd check it out finally. Wait a second, has Unknown Mortal Orchestra really not been mentioned in this thread? I'm hooked on their second album right now. It feels like being wrapped in a warm fuzzy blanket. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6Niqxw_Yz0
