 Is it a real bummer to get lynched Day 1? Have you ever wanted to live forever? This game will scratch that itch! In this game you (probably) can escape death at least once: You have more than one life (probably two), and getting lynched or killed just reduces your life by one. Players that reach zero lives will flip, but until then they're still in it. This game is similar in spirit to a game run last year by Jon Joe. Nine Lives Mafia: A game for 9 players (It may last a bit longer than a normal 9 player game due to the extra lives) Standard mafia rules apply: Don’t talk out of thread unless specifically permitted, don’t copy/paste PMs from the me, don’t edit your posts, no toxx or stuff against the spirit of the game. Also remember this is a game that we’re playing for fun, so don’t go overboard insulting each other or being dicks. If you don’t have PMs, make sure to mention how you’d like to be contacted in your signup. Days will be 72 hours Nights will be 24 hours (or shorter if all actions are resolved) Deadlines will usually be at 11PM EST The town wins when all threats have been eliminated. The scum win when they have killed everyone else, or can inevitably do so through control of the vote and night actions. If any third parties exist, their victory conditions will be defined in their role PM. Lurkers that make less than 3 posts per game day may be warned, replaced, or modkilled at my discretion. Do not post after hammers or day actions. Some specifics to this game: 1. Players that are lynched or killed who still have lives remaining will still be alive and in the game. When a player reaches zero, they will flip. That means that lynches may result in things like: "Mr. Whiskers has been lynched but is still alive!" 2. Although I've made considerable effort to balance this setup, its kind of wacky and volatile so weird things might happen. 3. This game is not newbie friendly. I ask that everyone that signs up have at least 5 SA games under their belt. 4. There are a lot of power roles for a 9-player game, fair warning. 5. This game will be light on flavor. 6. By the nature of multiple lives, there may not be any flips for the first day (or even two). To compensate for this and to provide some fuel for discussion and speculation, I will provide some extra information on the morning of Day 2, Day 3, and any later day where neither the previous lynch nor night actions yielded any flips: * I will post a summary of the life-count of all living players coded by a number assigned in the role PM (numbers will be assigned randomly). This will be your only indication of your life count, you will not be informed otherwise if you have lost a life. Each player's number will be revealed in their flip to allow for additional analysis, but to limit the effectiveness of this information prior to flips, the following rules are in effect: * It is prohibited to claim or breadcrumb your number, or fish for (ask about) another living player's number. Violations may result in a modkill. * This info is intended to provide some additional clues for speculation and analysis in lieu of flips, not to break the game through mass claiming.

If you want to claim how many lives you have left, or "someone tried to kill me last night" that's generally OK, as long as you respect the spirit of the rule to use the life-report as private information and a tool for general speculation until people flip. If people start badgering each other to mass claim lives left as a way to circumvent the secret number restrictions, I would warn people to knock it off.
