![]() IMPORTANT LINKS ![]() VOIP: New Mumble Server(we actively use this for guild wars and script stealing) Google Spreadsheet (where materials are, who needs them, what items require what materials, and equipment lists are on here) Goon Age of Wushu Wiki (where everything we know about the game is placed, registration is required) Last OP (more detailed information) Age of Wushu official forums (post here when you're bored) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Age of Wushu is open PvP mmo that has been recently released for Western audiences. There are martial arts and flying skills and qin playing. It's based off Age of Wulin which has been released in China/SEA for around 2 years. The skill system is similar to EVE online's where skills are trained in real time though there are ways to hasten this. As some of you have seen in the griefing thread this game is full of opportunites to mess with the other players in this game. We have taken advantage of this and this has not endeared us to the player community. Sounds good? You can download the game at the Age of Wushu site. Free accounts get 10 hours of play on the first day and an hour a day after that. This may change when this goes into the next beta phase (was scheduled for February but was delayed) and there are sites that give out unlimited beta passes. If you are willing to pay $20 for a deluxe account this will give you unlimited play time and among a list of extra features you will also get to cultivate your skills when you log off. After you buy a deluxe account you will need to manually activate it here. There have been problems with deluxe accounts not activating smoothly after using an unlimited play beta invite from various sites. Some goons have has success messaging customer service and getting 75 gold in return. Go here for help. ![]() Classes There are currently 8 classes in the game. They are all fun to play, but based on individual preferences there may be some you might like more than others. Syndlig has compiled some writeups for the classes and their skill sets here. There is a morality system in place where you gain discipline when you do certain actions like killing other players, kidnapping, and a few other things. While this can be annoying it should not be a factor you use in picking your class. Dealing with discipline is just leaving your client running for a bit while you do other things. How to Join Goon Guild There are currently 2 guilds. GoonTangClan is the main guild and is currently full but when we are able it's roster will be expanded. SanguineGoon is the overflow guild for alts and newer players. You can pvp after joining a guild if you don't mind dying a lot. There are always things to do to help the guild. A new player guide is located here on our wiki. Please read it. ![]() Unlike every other guild on the server we are using the magic of communism to gear our guild. This is currently experiencing some growing pains since it has gone from equipping 40 goons to 300+. mightygerm has a good guide here. Patience will be required for the immediate future until things get worked out to produce the volume of gear needed. Like mightygerm said put your name and gear on the google doc which is listed on the top of the OP. Guild Politics ![]() We are not well liked in this game. It is not uncommon for other guilds to attack goons on sight. As a new player this will result in you dying quite a bit by higher level players. Luckily it is easy to chain disable people in this game so a group of 3-4 lower leveled characters have a good chance of killing a higher level one. What this means basically is that you might need a thicker skin when you start out since there are lots of people on the server who do not like us. Apparently before goons showed up in force here guilds did not go to war with each other or pk each other. They were content to live and let live. This has led to some amusing things to crop up. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Professions ![]() Professions come in four groups. Gathering, manufacturing, social, and marketplace. You can have all of the gathering professions but only one of each of the others. If you have VIP you can have both the marketplace jobs. The wiki link for professions is here. Can't stress enough how amazing the wiki is/will be. Chefs and blacksmiths are well accounted for. We also have a decent amount of tailors. Poison makers and herbalists would be very helpful. I play this game, and I don't think I've fought a single person for like 3 days. I click on nodes to harvest over teamviewer during boring periods at work, I come home and only have a few minutes so I play Team Dance Dance Revolution. I am still leveling at the same rate as most people in the game, and I am still being helpfull to the guild. Finally, a game that caters to those of us who want an MMO, but don't really want to PLAY it. I will soon be the most poorly-skilled high level scholar you have ever seen. (This is quite a feat, because scholars seem to be ironically the dumbest players)

Mr.Pibbleton posted:Awesome, I'm going to give this game a try after work today. Most of the wiki is blocked to prevent pubbies accessing it. They pretty much all hate us so no reason to help them and since the public Wushu wiki is pretty much just random pages of Google Translated chinese wiki, they can stay in the dark. Just register an account there, it verifies your SA account and that's it. Fast info on kidnapping: Offline players who have bought VIP will stay in the game as NPCs doing various jobs to earn cash. You can walk up to them, drug them unconscious and carry them in a sack to various NPCs who will buy them off you, giving you both static amount of silver and the silver that player had earned in that job. But while you are carrying someone in a sack, you get movement speed penalty and you can be attacked freely by other players, who after killing you can then decide whatever they want to free the player from the sack or sell them themselves. Successfully selling someone gives you 1h long debuff that prevents you from selling someone during it's duration. It's fairly rare to see members of GoonTang, Sanguine Goon and various guilds we war in jobs other than prostitution because of this. ![]() As for profession, all manufacturing professions except Chef are wanted because of the way crafting works. Crafters are limited in the amount of stuff they can produce by both Energy, which recovers slowly, and bound Silver, which has cap on how much you can spend per day and is needed for buying crafting items from NPCs. So newbie crafters are desperate needed for making low tier items and then either passing them to someone else to craft further or grinding them down into upgrade materials, because our crafters are pretty much permanently energy and silver capped. Poisonmaking also allows you to pick various poisonous herbs in the nature, which are needed by roughly boatload for each armor piece before it can be passed to a goon. Seriously, pick any profession that you feel like would be nice, you will be useful. (Except Chef) Also, quoting a suggestion from the last thread because it closed so fast after it quote:I would suggest that people rebind movement to ESDF, at which point you will have enough room to bind hotbars around your movement keys. AWRG are especially easy to press like this. It does have the slight problem that shift and control are slightly harder to press tho.

I'll link a thing again as I only made it last night and just posted it in the recently deceased thread. Goon Tang Clan vs. VietUnited. If it tickles your fancy, you'll also find Goons vs. Sanguine Moon in my channel. I'm not sure if I'll do another unless there seems to be demand for it, as watching a Wanderer's Valley might get old pretty fast. It might be nice to cover some city brawls or something though.

Tip on kidnapping: if you are a lowbie it is easier to find a turn in spot first, then look for players close by to kidnap. You can't kidnap players that already work at the turn in spot, but the closer you can find them the less chance you get your rear end kung fued.
