Welcome to Harry Potter and the Mask of Gryffindor Mafia, a game for 26 players.

On a seemingly routine ride back to Hogwart’s from King’s Cross Station, Hermione Grainger sat down with Harry Potter and revealed something that had apparently been bothering her all summer: “Harry, Bathilda Bagshot wrote in Hogwarts, A History that inside of the school are four masks, masks of unknown and great power created by the house makers that have been hidden away for years. The masks would reveal themselves to the world at a time when they were needed most. I fear that time is now, Harry - Voldemort is almost back.”

Ron still gets squeamish at the name of You-Know-Who being spoken out loud. His face turned a dark green, possibly from a Bertie Bott’s Flavour Bean named ‘vomit’ and not related to this story at all. Yet, he sat there trying to remember why these masks struck a nerve with him. He had heard of them before, but from where?

“Well, what do we do, Hermione? If these masks are of great power, you have to think Voldemort would want them,” Harry said.

Darker green now. Yup, it was the name, not the bean.

“We find them, Harry, and we use them against the death eaters. Look, if the masks are buried in Hogwart’s and they know about them, the whole group of death eaters will be after them within the school’s walls very soon - or maybe they already are there.”

Harry sat back and tried to think. The boy who lived would surely be tested again.

Two hours later, Dumbledore confirmed Hermione’s suspicions when he gathered everyone in the great hall for the usual festivities, including the sorting hat. However, today, the sorting hat ritual seemed to come at a distant second to what the headmaster revealed to start the school year.

“Death eaters have infiltrated Hogwart’s. The staff are currently looking for them, and you should not be alarmed. Of course, we’ve already ran into at least one instance where a student has been under Imperio. If a student is acting strangely, contact a teacher at once! Hmm, I guess that goes for a teacher too. If anyone is acting strangely, contact... contact me at once! Unless it’s me that’s acting strangely, then, well, contact someone.”

Rules:
Here are some rules that you should know:

This game is modded by Merk (Gtalk:merker@gmail.com) and Token Female (Gtalk: buymeaphony@gmail.com). If you have questions feel free to contact us.
The town win condition is: You win when all of the anti-Hogwarts forces have been removed.
Don’t lurk. If you don’t post for 24 hours you will be prodded. If you don’t post for 48 hours, don’t be surprised if you get replaced.
This game will NOT include plurality lynches. If a majority decision is not reached before the deadline, the day will end with a NO LYNCH.
Anyone who may need one has been provided with a full role PM as a fake claim. In addition, flavor is not indicative of alignment.
You are forbidden from quoting any private communications with the moderators, from talking to any player (living or dead) outside the thread unless your role PM says you may, and from making any other attempt to cheat or break the game (e.g. Toxxing, truth or dare, etc.).
Remember this game is about having fun so don’t go out of your way to be a jerk to people. This should be fun!
Throughout the game, the thread may be open when it should be closed, such as, for example, after a lynch. Please do not post in the thread if a reasonable person would assume that players are not supposed to be posting in the thread.

To help make up your mind: we are hoping to start the game on tuesday, with a deadline on Friday. Starting day 2 sometime on Saturday and then having a day 2 deadline of Tuesday next week.

The 48-hour rule in the Op will be very lenient on weekends. We know that people have lives (and birthdays), so it's not really intelligent to get mad at folks who can't post on the weekend very much.
