You'll be quite happy with the Tamron. Most photographers would be hard pressed to see difference in IQ. AF is a bit slower but not by that much, IIRC

CPL's work fine with AF. Linears can cause metering/AF issues.

Yo people need to stop repeating this with no actual experience. It's not the greatest feat of optical engineering (except when you take price into account it kinda is) but it's plenty decent, just slow.

I think a fast 30 or 35, the 18-55 kit (regardless of brand) and a tamron 70-300 VC is a great bunch of glass to start with.

Take it from someone with both FX and APSC cameras: there are a lot of reasons (on top of cost) to use crop sensors cameras.

Diffraction limit is a function of sensor density too. A 6MP and a 24MP sensor don't have the same limit.

That's a great combo (whether you start with the kit or the 35). Do look into M43 though. You can get most of the way there in terms of performance in a package that's half the weight and size.
