ethanol posted:Can somebody explain this picture to me? I mean what the gently caress is going on here. In the background, we see the Savannah, which represents the wilderness of Africa (Oscar Pistorious is South African). In his hands, he holds a leash that is connected to a cheetah. Cheetahs are known for being able to run very fast, and for being native to Africa. Oscar Pistorious, the famous paraplegic runner, has captured nature's speed and agility. It is his domestic pet. He takes it for walks into the Savannah while he thinks about how he is the Savannah: Wild and impossible to tame, unlike his pet cheetah.

I'm sure he is crippled with guilt. Also, Lance Armstrong and Oscar Pistorious? Never trust any athlete who has had to overcome any serious personal obstacle ever because they are all scumbags. It goes without saying that everyone in the Paralympics is a terrible person.

As somone who has lived in South Africa, house with electric fence and all that, it does really feel like he took the home security thing too far. As others have mentioned, home invasions in SA are quite bad, but that does not mean you can sleep with a loving gun by the side of your bed and feel okay to shoot anything that moves. If he sticks to the home invasion bit he will definitely come across as a paranoid madman. As for the question about Afrikaaner nationalists asked a few pages back, I haven't been in SA for quite a while but I don't think the AWB are still around. Really the whole situation sounds loving ludicrous. National hero shoots girlfriend dead.
