SHOULD YOU WATCH THIS EVENT?![]() Sure! This event gets a solemn-looking Daniel Bryan nodding on the Unofficial Daniel Bryan Excitement Rating Scale. It's not THE ROYAL RUMBLE, but it's still a really good time. Carlito. Drew McIntyre. Chris Masters. Mike Knox. Vladimir Koslov. These are just some of the immortals who have stepped into the Elimination Chamber over the eleven years that it has been in existence. The Elimination Chamber grew in popularity, and eventually became a full-fledged pay-per-view. Tonight, live from New Orleans, comes the fourth iteration of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. A strong card looks to be in store tonight. Let's look at what's on tonight's card: ![]() PRESHOW MATCH: 7:30 EST Because the WWE just can't commit to things, the Rhodes Scholars have been broken up for all of two weeks before the WWE decided to make them team up again. They will be taking on the team of Brodus Clay and the Hippu Hoppu Hippo, who became happy again through the power of DANCE (this happened. WRESTLING!!) ![]() Diva's Champion Kaitlyn vs. Tamina Snuka looooooooooool okay ![]() United States Champion Antonio Cesaro vs. The Miz ![]() This feud in a nutshell. ![]() Elimination Chamber match for the #1 Contender's spot for the World Heavyweight Championship Let's run down the competitors in this match: Jack Swagger: recently returned from a hiatus that he self-imposed because he was too terrible, came back with a racist vengeance and Dutch Mantel as a manager Randy Orton: Perpetually concussed, perpetually on drugs, perpetually injured, perpetually making Mark Henry look awesome Chris Jericho: Amazingly came back at the Royal Rumble, still wrestles really well Kane: Hates/loves Daniel Bryan, increasingly entertaining Daniel Bryan: Best in the World in a company full of them, wonderful worker, loads of personality, handsome Mark Henry: Wig-splittin' machine, also made a return recently, looks svelte, terrifying, and awesome This match promises to be very good, as Elimination Chambers tend to be, as the six competitors in the match all put on star-making events when they want or need to. ![]() The rivalry between Alberto Del Rio and the Big Show has been an unexpectedly fun one, going through twists and turns throughout the story. Ever since Del Rio shockingly won the title on a SmackDown a month-and-a-half ago, the rivals have had a Last Man Standing match which ended with the ol' duct tape trick, the Big Show has beaten up Ricardo time and time again, and Del Rio has taken the wheels off the bus. This match looks to be a regular match, seemingly a step down from their previous encounters, but who will prevail and go on to WrestleMania as the World Heavyweight Champion? (warning: this won't prevent you from losing the title in a matter of seconds and making an entire subforum sad) ![]() Ever since they burst on the scene four months ago, the Shield has caused a ruckus among the WWE superstars. But they hadn't ran afoul of the one and only, the almighty Royal Rumble winner John Cena. That's right, as soon as they attacked John Cena, he finally started caring about them and not all the other times they attacked his "friends", and as such challenged them to a match tonight. Rumblings were saying that they were going to have it in the Elimination Chamber, which would have been could been really cool but probably impractical. Trios matches can be great when done correctly, and all of the participants in this match are capable of stepping it up when they need to (yes, even The Ryback). The Shield's second match could be huge, as if they could score a pinfall over this team, who on earth could beat them in a fair fight? But it is John Cena and some other dudes, so when the match is over, John Cena may be standing tall on his road to WrestleMania. ![]() Ever since losing his WWE Championship to the Rock at the Royal Rumble, CM Punk has been a man possessed. With Paul Heyman by his side, Punk has refused to take no as an answer, continuing to count his days as WWE Champion (455 days tonight). To take it a step farther, Punk stole the championship belt on the last Raw before the event. The interaction between these two for the most part has been fantastic, as these two men take each other seriously and it comes across in the way they talk when in proximity with one another. After last month's stipulation saying that if the Shield interfered in the title match, Punk would be stripped of the title; tonight the tables have been turned: if the Rock gets disqualified or counted out, he will lose the championship. That's a stipulation just ripe for shenanigans, isn't it? We'll see what happens tonight when these two square off again. All this and more, tonight, at the Elimination Chamber! Really looking forward to this show, it has a hell of a lot of potential. My predictions are pretty much garbage though, but that's cool, I like it when I have no idea what is going on.

I hope the Smackdown Elimination Chamber is just six dudes killing eachother like it was last year.

Looking forward to this mainly as its one of the few the uk get without shelling an additional 15 squid to see. I think every non divas match as potential to be awesome but I don't think im going to be happy with who wins a fair few of the matches. (mainly cesaro and the six man tag)

Has WWE flipflopped on Cena+2/Shield being in a chamber yet?

| # ? Feb 17, 2013 22:15 |

So, the only match that uses the Chamber is the Smackdown #1 Contender's thing? That seems strange since there's no way that is going on last.

If I had to guess, I'd say it was going on first. Gimmick PPVs everybody.

I'm looking forward to The Shield triple-powerbombing some fools and hopefully Punk losing cleanly so he stays the hell away from Cena at Wrestlemania.

Its all up in the air I would say the result of the rock/cm punk match will go a long way to settling whats happening there.

My dream is (and it isn't going to happen): Jericho wins the Elimination Chamber, backstage Ziggler is horrified Del Rio defeats Big Show but is exhausted after the match Ziggler comes out to cash-in, a furious Show attacks Del Rio and KOs him, and Ziggler gets the win Del Rio and Show continue to feud sans the belt Ziggler and Jericho have an incredible match for Ziggler's title at Wrestlemania It's pretty terrible fantasy booking with all kinds of problems, but I really dig the idea of Jericho and Ziggler getting a big Mania match. I'm also hoping that Rock is DQed due to a ref bump or something when he clearly has Punk beaten, and because there is controversy over how Punk got the belt back they make it a triple threat between Punk/Rock/Cena at Wrestlemania. That DEFINITELY isn't happening though.
