FlamingLiberal posted:As a Floridian you are correct. The state Democratic Party has been a joke for going on 20 or so years now. The main problem they have is that they never get good candidates to run for major office. I still think even if Crist is implicated in the Greer scandal (which is uncertain to stick, considering Greer isn't a trustworthy person), Scott is so horribly unpopular here that it won't matter. I just hope that the party doesn't flinch and nominate Alex Sink for a rematch again. Sink might have a better shot down here if she added an extra "k" in her name and just ran on that.

amanasleep posted:This is definitely a more convincing argument. If he's truly just an ineffective bomb-thrower he should simply get a show on MSNBC and be done with it. It could be called...the Danger Zone. Also seriously, with a madam running against a former client, what the heck is going on up there in New York? I'm just trying to think up what the next political news item to come out of there will be and it's getting increasingly hard to find sillier things.

ReindeerF posted:The ironic part being that the poors just do cockfighting anyway, or at least did where I grew up, while if you banned horseracing it would just be too blatant to sneak around doing. You'd have to go to a track in a foreign country (or maybe BIA governed territories, I dunno). For cockfighting, though, you don't need much! Just a ring and an enclosure and some ornery roosters. Oh yeah, cheap hooch and someone to hold the money. now I'm imagining an underground horse racing ring. Old white guys sneaking out at midnight to derby tracks, hushed bets, thoroughbred horse trailers making bootlegger-like runs...
