The greatest trick Coyote ever pulled, was convincing the world that he exists.

Ok, this is bugging the poo poo out of me. There was a commercial 2-5 years ago for a device that was advertised as a musical instrument. It had lights that went between two little poles on either end of it and you would move your hand between these to make it play various canned music tracks. The commercial was full of infuriatingly smug people pretending to be musicians by blocking lasers with their hands. Nobody else I have asked has any idea what I'm talking about, and I'm trying to convince them I didn't make it up.

edit: found it as soon as I posted this. It's called Beamz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZcyngSX2_c

DOUBLE EDIT: That video is only real for the first minute or so, it's been edited. Does anyone have the original commercial?

Triple Edit!: Posting makes me find things. http://www.break.com/usercontent/20...am-music-489883

...and you're worried about me gaying up the place.

This thing.

I had a video conference with the guy behind this thing, and they seemed to think that it was the most amazing and magical piece of technology ever invented (but some of us remember Para Para Paradise).

... he insisted on playing it for us during the call. For at least two or three minutes.

My favorite part is how you basically load it up with midi files and step through them!
But with lasers.

Haha, man, that guy sounds incredible. I'd love to meet someone so doe-eyed and naive that they thought that playing canned music through a plastic instrument that literally requires no skills at all was really cool and impressive.
