I don't remember if anyone ever posted this, but here's a non-YouTube way to listen to JF's Primavera Sound 2012 set http://freemusicarchive.org/music/James_Ferraro/Live_at_Primavera_Sound_2012_James_Ferraro

EDIT: I've also started listening to Maeror Tri since I saw oiseaux listening to them on Last.fm and while maybe not within the purview of this thread, they are very good.

After Maeror Tri broke up 2 of the 3 dudes went off and formed Troum and they're also worth checking out(but yeah maybe this should go in the a/d/n thread).

Edit: to actually relate this to the thread, were the films that Ferraro made posted somewhere in this thread already? They're cool:

DIMINISHING SHRINE RECYCLES

Rapture Adrenaline

DEMON CHANNELS

i didnt manage to get it before he took it down the first time, so i can't comment, but Fact says "Again, Blunt being Blunt, the ‘deluxe edition’ tag doesn’t just mean some bonus tracks – some tracks have simply changed name, others have changed entirely."

Does he make enough cash to do this full-time? Dude's prolific as hell, I don't know how he'd find the time otherwise

Here's a new EP (I guess?) https://soundcloud.com/b-e-b-e-t-u-n-e/1-wtc

I wonder how he keeps his different styles straight at this point because he's been jumping between like drugged out hood r&b, classical motifs, and BODYGUARD/BEBETUNE$ type stuff the past couple months.

you cant have it, you dont have nuff teef to chew it
I posted this in the "Where should I start with __" thread but I guess no one who reads that cares, so I guess I'll try here. I have some of Legowelt's stuff but there's just so much that I'm a bit intimidated, so I'm looking for a place to start or probably more accurately an idea of which sorts of different things he's done. I've heard some of the Smackos and Phalangius stuff as well as the Memphis rap mixes as well as The Rise and Fall of Manuel Noriega and they all seem pretty unique so I feel sort of directionless when looking at the rest of his giant discography. Any pointers?

On page 2 there's a writeup of some of his sideprojects, highlighting the best of the bunch, if you didn't catch it. For his techno side, The TEAC Life and Crystal Cult are pretty accessible, but I don't know so much about that. Real heads in the PHIZ techno thread will be able to help you though friend!!!

Honestly I would just check out any and all Legowelt projects because they are--at the very least--interesting.

Yeah, that's how I got started with what I have now. I was just wondering if anyone had any direction to moving forward beyond randomly picking albums, which is probably what I'm going to end up doing.

I need you to wear this. I need you to wear this all the time. It's office policy.
adding to that thanks. Silica Gel is really really good. although I think some of the longer songs really don't need to be that length; I don't think it fits with the music style or the imaginary audience the aesthetic is playing to. I was planning on dropping acid and going through the whole thing immersed in mental energy drink cryostasis but I don't know if I'd get past the first seven minute, mostly unchanging song

Aren't those all pics from Oneohtrix's tumblr? He seems really interested in the Alien films and body horror recently, hopefully that all comes through in his next project.

This one is exactly what R+7 makes me picture:

So I'm currently really enjoying Saint Pepsi, Rollergirl, and Macross 82-99. Any other bands that do similar vapey/funky stuff? (Not sure if it even qualifies as vaporwave though)

Pretty much anything on Keats Collective or Midwest Collective

Aside from the ones you mentioned, Flamingosis is a favourite of mine: https://keatscollective.bandcamp.com/album/flamingosis
