What in God's name
is happening
right now?

As usual, Supporting Actor is the strongest category with all nominees having previously won Oscars. There's going to be a James Bond tribute with all the Bonds on stage together, and Adele is gonna sing Skyfall.

Daniel Day-Lewis will win his third Best Actor Oscar, the most ever (Katharine Hepburn has four Best Actress Oscars), and Anne Hathaway will make us suffer through a histrionic acceptance speech for Supporting Actress. Also, Argo is going to win Best Picture because Affleck wasn't nominated for Best Director.

For interviews with various nominees, The Hollywood Reporter's annual roundtables: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ga...e-series-396220

And a candid interview with a director member of the Academy as he goes through his ballot: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ra...t-ballot-422546

And the nominees are...
