Let me preface this by saying I'm not looking for a way to do anything illegal at all. I'm a last semester law student and need to sign up for a bar review course. The problem, I can't afford one. So I was wondering if anyone knew a very cheap or free option for bar reviews and, if not, would I be able to just show up to BARBRI courses and listen to the lectures without paying for all the actual books/videos/materials, etc.? Or do they have a strict signing in system that keeps out non-payers? Desperate here and willing to hear any advice you may have!

Unless you're really confident of yourself it's better to suck it up and get a bar loan, but if you're a special standardized test taking snowflake I'd recommend doing it the other way around - buying the books from Ebay and skipping the lectures. The books (specifically the multiple choice Q's) are 100% necessary, but *if* you are very confident about your ability and can self-study, you can do without the lectures for the most part.

Definitely don't think I'm unique in my test taking abilities. I do know I zone out in lectures and am much more focused studying in my room with outlines. I've just been told by every person I've ever met in the field that is not what I should try to do with the bar. I strongly disagree, but I'm not pompous enough to ignore the advice of every successful attorney I've spoken with.
