I got a text this morning from a girl I met in a lab fall semester of '12. From the content, it seemed like she was going to commit suicide. I called 911, but I didn't really know this girl outside of class, all I knew was her first name and cellphone number, so I'm not sure I was much help. I tried calling her, but it went to voicemail. Is there anything else I can/should do?

What was the message? That's really weird someone you apparently hardly know would do that out of the blue.

What did she say? Do you have the contact info for any of her friends? Do you know where she lives?

I called a mutual friend from our lab, she was more in the know. She's safe, she send the text to all her friends, and so the cops were called. I'm relieved. I'm still fairly rattled up though, so sorry if this is hard to read. Thanks all for your help. e: We were fairly close during the lab, since it was a lab for a freshman general science course that let you work in groups of three. We just never interacted off campus, since she lived really far from the university. It was also the fall semester of this year, I phrased that poorly. How on earth did you not know her last name? I always NEED to know someone's last name if I'm getting to know them well.

I don't use facebook too much, so I normally don't add people, and she never added me. Beyond that, it just never came up I guess
