I have a lovely 6 month old whippet pup, she is house trained. A recent problem has just emerged, where she is pooping in the back of my utility every morning on the way to work, only a 15 min trip. She did it once a couple weeks ago, which I thought must have just been a desperate accident, but this week she has just done it the past 3 days in a row. I put her outside in the morning when we get up, and she has a nice pee and she usually would do her morning poo as well in the time that leave her out for 30-40 min while I get ready/eat breakfast. I then put her on the tray where she is tied on a leash, about 50cm long. We then drive to work, which is on a farm, for 15 min. At the farm she is free to run around and pee and poop whenever and wherever she likes.

So I am wondering if anyone has and tips or solutions? Its really quite strange and only a recent thing. This is our daily routine and nothing has changed. It's like when shes in the yard shes too distracted sniffing and cruising around to bother going to the toilet, then sort of realises she really needs to go once shes on the car and can't hold on until we get to work.

Even the cat people read my dog threads

My guess is that it's an anxiety poo. It also doesn't sound like the way you transport her is very secure. I'd probably have her travel in the cab so a) you can keep an eye on her and b) she's more secure. It may ease the anxiety too.

I will put a pigeon on this gun. The bird is an accessory.

Thread does not deliver This poop issue is not nearly bizarre enough.

What sort of response do you give her when she eliminates properly outside? You might want to go back into training mode, keeping a close eye on her inside, and praising like crazy when she goes outside. Treats help.

Does she get out before bed time? When does she eat? Can you close off the area she's been secretly pooping in?
