Getting a Vita for Christmas means I finally can play Disgaea 3! I'm not really concerned with the story, I mean, I go through entire playthroughs of Star Ocean 3 without viewing a single cutscene. Is the gameplay still good? I hear it's good. I want to run my Vita's battery into the ground.

Fuckers in homeroom wouldn't let me have a ronin, clearly the only answer is to toss the level curve out of the window and become hardcore enough that I can murder all of them. Then I'll do 4-2.

Unknown_PC posted:Monster ranks can also be adjusted without passing those silly stronger/weaker enemy bills ...Why the gently caress didn't they do this sooner? God it seems like the most obvious goddamn thing in retrospect!

Disgaea 3 question: how do I get the class-specific evilities to buy? It seems arbitrary if the 5000 mana one shows up, and I've only ever seen the 30000 ones on my comically-leveled Kunoichi and Mage Knight. I just don't know what the conditions are and it's bugging me.

Makes sense, but are there any hard numbers anywhere? A level 163 Saint Dragon doesn't have Ice's Blessing. Since reincarnation costs double I can't keep up guesswork.

Hunting for illegal tickets in Disgaea 3 is so tedious. Take mystery gates and hope in vain for a ticket store, and wait a turn in each floor past 20 in an item in vain for pirates. Am I missing something or is it really this slow and random?

Evil Fluffy posted:Use Swords and Fists, maybe Axes. Spears are kind of mediocre in D3. I let Mao main spears and they haven't been a problem to me, maybe because his unique skills cover for the spear's skillset. Hell, none of the weapons have been disappointing. Just that fists, by virtue of enabling blink-tanking and having Big Bang, are better. Guns will probably stop keeping up when I cover everything in specialists, since there isn't a Hit/Speed one. E: Might as well ask since I have a post: do dual specialists like Sprinters boosts stats when leveling equipment, or is it just singular ones like Gladiator or Coach? E2: Never mind, I looked up a guide and since it specifies single-stat specialists for leveling I can pretty safely assume that's the case. Miracon posted:"Certain item" as in whatever you want at the time. I got a tiny-rear end map with three geo symbols over about 20 panels and there, sitting in level 5, was a Legendary Arcadia. It turns out plinking a dude with 0-damage gunshots increases the bonus gauge by a minute amount. Slumber works even better. I'm going to have one hell of a Trapezohedron. That I'll clone.

Why does Land Demise sometimes leave enemies at 1 HP? I was looking forward to clearing through maps with no effort instead of minimal effort.

kirbysuperstar posted:Hm. Is there a dumbass guide to Reverse Pirating? You get that by beating a pirate group, right? I haven't come across any yet. Wait a turn in the item world on floor 20 and on and pirates might show up. Beat them up, clear the stage, and get a ship, then pass the bill for the reverse pirating club. quote:And uh, where do you get the PPS, again? It's the reward for one of the postgame fights you have to pass bills for. I think it's Breezy Satina.
