An "M" on the forehead is actually one of distinctive markings of a common tabby. It's not an absolute, but the vast majority of tabby cats will have an "M" in varying degress of prominence on their foreheads. 
|
After getting the three rolls of film I shot during my vacation back and realizing the photo lab processed the film wrong and they all came back blank, catching up on the last few pages of this thread have been really helpful.

None of us wanted a cat at that point in time, no way, no how. Nope.  Seven years later she basically rules the house. We will leave the doors wide open and she'll take an occasional sniff outside, but I think it was lovely enough when she was out there years ago, she wants no part of it anymore.
