So I went to the gunshow saturday and helped someone buy their first firearm and this box follwed me home.![]() Hrm, little black case. What's this on the lid? ![]() Rock Island Armory. Not the worst company, but not Wilson Combat or Dan Wesson. Let's see what's inside. ![]() Get out of here Sterling, you are drunk. ![]() There, that's better. A Rock Island 1911. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Wait, What the gently caress? That's not big enough to let compressed American freedom! ![]() 9mm?!?! JMB must be spinning in his grave. At least it's still primarily the same design and isn't some abomination in .40 S&W. Love you IR35 While this isn't my first handgun, this is my first 1911 and it was enjoyable chewing a ragged hole in the target at 10 yards. Part of the decision for this gun was that it it's a 1911 and the other was that I didn't have to do anything else for ammo as I already reload 9. After shooting it, the ultimate answer was I like it.

I secretly want a 9mm 1911 and I would shoot the hell out of it if the price was right. Are they any smaller than a regular 1911?

As far as I can tell, they are the same size. When I was looking at the table, there were four other 1911s and I couldn't tell them apart.

The on;y real changes for a 9mm 1911 (other than springs) are the barrel, breechface, ejector and mag. The ejector is shaped differently enough that you won't (shouldn't The billboard rollmark wouldn't be quite as bad if they didn't fill it with paint. What's with the recoil spring plug? FLGR?

I used to have that mug. When did RIA start making the rollmark extravagant? I just have a plain no-frills, all caps, boring stamp.

Basticle posted:sup RIA buddy I was just about to say, sure am glad mine doesn't have that rollmark. Wait til you get a decent set of grips on it, too. I put some hogue monogrips on mine, it's ugly but miles better functionally than those awful balsa wood grips they ship with.
