1921!

Here's a GDT for those other tournaments that they play in March. I figure interest in these is probably low enough that we'll just need the one thread.

NIT games are viewable on various ESPN channels, CIT games are viewable on the CIT website for free (I think) if you register for a thing, and, uh, good luck watching any CBI games. Some of them appear on something called AXS TV.

NIT bracket:

CBI bracket (this is a strange one - the bracket is redone after the quarterfinals and the finals are a three-game series):

The CIT doesn't actually draw up a bracket until after the first round at all maybe?

CIT final:
ECU d. Weber St. 77-74

I said it in the other thread, but if Kentucky loses in the first round of the NIT I will laugh. If Baylor finds a way to do the same I will cry.

Jarrod Polson being on the court this much this game is making me think of the Maryland game that started the season.

It's a weird almost sort of déjà vu type thing.

For those that can't watch. This is one of the most bizarre games I've ever watched. This gym is so small. This is like Alabama in a bowl game at your high school.

There was something kind of adorable about them handing the mic to 32-year-old RMU coach Andy Toole to have him tell the fans to stop throwing things on the court.

Why the fans are throwing things on the court to begin with is beyond me though.

The Robert Morris gym has a capacity of 3,056. The Kentucky student section has a capacity of 5,000.

And getting beat by said high school. This tourney season already promises to be awesome.

EDIT: Well, keep it close in the first half, anyway.

Cal looks humiliated. Like, every time they show him. He grew up there, all his old friends and family watching him losing right now. That's gotta sting.

Win the first half, actually. This is hilarious. I'm not sure the gym my old high school used for pep rallies was smaller than this.

He has more of a track record as a coach and recruiter but it would be hilarious if he became to basketball what Gene Chizik was to football.

Suffice to say the only thing that has allowed me to maintain my tolerance of Drew's coaching has been seeing Cal have just as much trouble, if not more, this year.

Drew had more to work with, to be frank. Which doesn't take away from my belief they could win the NIT any less.

Oh yeah, definitely. Drew's obviously a worse coach than Cal, I'm just saying that watching Cal's woes has made me less ready to call Drew completely terrible. Cal's had a lot of talent to work with too - didn't they outrecruit us last year? But clearly he just hasn't been able to get the chemistry or personality or quirks to gel or develop much better than Drew did. So - I figure, maybe this poo poo just happens. Maybe a team just can't get their heads into it and there's only so much a coach can do. Especially when you look at how many close losses we had. Both our bad losses (CoC and Northwestern) were nearly wins, we had two game-winners clank off the rim before Oklahoma beat us, OSU beat us with .2 on the clock in overtime, then the...thing that happened...versus KSU, and of course our delightful refs calling the last game versus OSU. It just feels like, as frustrating as it's been, we've only ever been a few minutes of decent play from being drat good.

Of course, I've only been watching for two years, so gently caress if I actually know.

It probably doesn't help that they picked up two of the whiniest former NC State players to pad out their roster. One of them was actually talented but way way too small and the other was mostly just terrible. I'll let you guess which is which.

"Robert Morris playing solid simple fundamental basketball"

See that has been the problem with Kentucky all year. Their fans complained all year because they can't do this simple thing. I can't believe what I'm seeing.
