Oh no I fully expect them to beat a gourmet king at some point. Or at least be able to keep up with one in combat. How else are they going to fight on Joa and the blue nitro's level if they cant at least do the poo poo Ichiryuu and Midoriya could do? Also its shonen manga. All thw above is a given.

I have a feeling that the escapades of Joa, the prez, and Midori are probably really exaggerated given how crazy Gourmet World really is. They were able to make their full course out of these impossible to get ingredients but I'd be surprised if they were stepping on gourmet kings casually; maybe some kind of mind/body control or a weird technique like whatever personality cooking method they have. Also seems like blue nitro were just stealing ingredients and getting the gently caress out, at least in Heracles case, not fist-fighting in the park. I mean, yeah it's a shonen manga, but the solution to becoming the strongest isn't always "beat everyone else up" in a shonen manga, anyways.

Well the blue nitro did subjugate the now monkey continent, werent it for the sandoriko kicking them out. And they did say/insinuate that the blues were at least strong or skillful as Ichi and Mido. I like that toriko does the whole "you thought the protags were good? Theyre not worth poo poo" and manages to make it logical within the mangas setting.

Let's get the Yeah, Toriko has opted to just take it as inevitable that the training arc will succeed so it just explains what's going on and spends a couple chapters so it doesn't occur totally off-screen. Compare that to Naruto, who took how many chapters to figure out elemental chakra, even after cheating and doing massively-parallel training with bullshit clones?

Eh I am still finding this is dragging on a bit compared to the last arc. This manga is really fantastic though and the only arc where I felt "okay, enough already" was gourmet marineford or whatever he was going for then. I guess I just miss Komatsu

The most thought that went into Naruto's "training" was Kishimoto realizing he had written himself into a corner and pulling something out of his rear end to make up for it. 3 year time skip, and Naruto is almost the exact same except for some demon training, and has to go through dozens of chapters of "you can use shadow clones like this?!?!" and "here's basic elemental techniques that takes months/years to learn". The only reason we didn't see the same for Sasuke was he was a genius and also used ~forbidden~ techniques to learn quickly. Toriko seems like there's a definite plan for how the power creep works, and even if it's just "heroes hit an impossible wall, quickly learn a new trick to surpass it" at the very least its not boring.

Ok some things to note. When Acacia went to meet with the Blue Nitro. It was said that PAIR had come to see him. It appears that the Nitro that Toriko and Komatsu met is named PAIR. Anyone think it's a possibility that all of the Blue Nitro are named after the ingredients.

The theme for this arc is that fighting isn't the answer. So, if they become friends with the monkey king he will probably give them his testicles. Look at that ring- it is made out of body parts. Nothing lives in the high gravity area except the monkey king, so I think he made it out of his own body. Meaning, he regenerates so giving away his balls to some buds ain't no thang.
