I make a habit of attending as many performances of local bands as possible. The best part is being able to meet them and talk about their music or any music for that matter. To be able to get varying perspectives on style, equipment, and technique has been very helpful and inspiring. Maybe someday I'll see someone on TV and be able to say "I saw that guy play in a little dive bar back in 2010". How many of you make an effort to do this like me? Other than seeing bands you are acquainted with I mean. Bands that you don't know or haven't heard before. I took guitar lessons from a guy here in Omaha a few years ago. He's been in a few different groups/bands locally. They are currently working on an album via a kickstarter project. You can hear a few of the new singles at the project page. His music is not at all like what I typically listen to. But he has a very blues kind of feel. it's almost a rock, blues, with a country twist. Hard to describe. He's my favorite because he only really does original stuff. no covers that I have ever heard. Check it out and let me know what you think.
