I'm having a hard time deciding something about the latest chapter. Is an armored knight running across water and deflecting 20mm Gatling gun rounds with a giant tower shield stupid as gently caress or the best thing I've seen all week?

There's something that's just not as cool about a guy deflecting bullets with a shield as, say, catching them or punching them out of the air or whatever. Badass skills > badass equipment, all day every day. Which I guess is pretty uncharitable of me, considering what manga we're discussing.

I dunno, seeing like a 12 foot tall fully plate armored knight running on water, deflecting bullets with a shield was pretty funny. Although I'm half expecting Shigure to bust the armor and expose a half naked chick inside.

It's another to decide that you've also got super metallurgy beyond the keen of science. Unless it turns out the armor and shield actually weigh 500 lbs and are actually much thicker than it appears, because inside the 12 foot tall knight is actually a 4 foot tall littler person who trained to be super strong..

of course they've got super metallurgy have you already forgotten all the armor they just got? And that was made in pretty short time. the master of old-timey knighthood probably had a lot more time to make his shield

Obvious answer is that the armor and shield is made of super duper ultra dense depleted uranium or some poo poo, weighs a million tons, and is wielded by a naked, ultra strong, four foot chick. And that it's a nonsensical shonen manga that I can't stop reading.

Quick question, anyone know off hand what kind of time-frame the manga is supposed to have taken place over. I was thinking earlier about how great the progress of Kenichi's skills and growth has been portrayed, even just in the art and how he's become more muscular over time but I realized I've no idea if it's supposed to have been months or years so far. I don't recall any birthdays off-hand, but that doesn't mean they haven't happened. Also, Mycroft would want to be pretty intelligent at the very least as a fighter given his most popular namesake, so I've high hopes for him as an enemy.

Every time this drat series loses me (and it has been since the weapons division got introduced), something amazing happens. loving Microft. Also, this part is far behind us, but it bugs me anyways: Every fighting style in Kenichi gets at least a few GASP panels explaining how the style or a technique works and what they're doing and etc, but Lucha Libre gets the shaft. Even though it's play fighting, it could've at least mentioned something about the crazy core manipulation or the legscissors position or etc. Instead, it just got described as "WOW THEY ACTUALLY MADE FAKEY BULLSHIT WORK!" I mean, hey, aikido magical force trick flippadoos and drunken boxing aren't the most up-and-up things, but they're awesome anyways. Can't complain much, though. When the lucha characters actually fight (instead of being rad or annoying/creepy), it's pretty fun. I just nitpick okay  Anyways I just remembered that I got a cheap copy of the PS2 game a while back, sooo... trip report incoming, I guess.

There's no way she's losing a one-on-one match at least, though it's possible more weapon masters could arrive. I hope not though. Also, that page may be one of the best things to come out of this entire manga. It's just so silly but cool.
