Awesome thread, KillHour, thanks for making it. The firm I used to consult with did a whole lot of work with corporate security - although I mostly dealt with training out susceptibility to social engineering and other intangible-type stuff, I was always really fascinated by my coworkers who did physical security, intrusion, countermeasures, that kinda thing. So seeing this thread makes me happy, and I'll be following it with great interest.

In your opinion, what's the most common mistake people make when buying/setting up/maintaining/etc. surveillance networks?
