That was a pretty fun siege event despite the second map, but that terrible Admin has forced me to do something in my own event to get my point across to some people. And since I can't even express my own opinions without being told to put up or shove off it has forced my hand. You guys and of course the head honchos of the 38e will be 'in' on this thing. I will be curious to see how many people will get the point or simply leave. It is going to be a fun experiment! I hope somebody will record it! Feel free to break out your lady alts to celebrate! Also, EU line battle in a few hours from now and our usual SAdraGoons line battle later tonight.

On release I seem to recall all of us agreeing things were perfectly balanced and didn't need any major tweaking. I guess since we're ~casuals~ our opinions don't really matter to the king spergs who complain the loudest. Anyways, enough silly talk. We got the EU line battle in less than an hour and our American one tonight around 8PM EST. Goons may be either Rifles or Artillery.

God I'll miss those birds when the next patch removes them from the random maps  .Anyway we have two line battles tonight in both time zones, the EU one starting in around fifty minutes from this post and the American one at 8PM EST. Show to either if you can. Also, after the LB always persuaded me and several other goons to get in on Guns Of Icarus and it is amazingly fun working together in a claptrap Airship shooting dudes out of the sky. Give it a try if you think you are up for it. Props to Pants in buying that 4-Pack!

We had some good high moments in last nights line battle, and a pretty balling American turn out. My favourite bits were watching Blue Spy BLOCK THREE BAYONETS AT ONCE WITH A SWORD WHILST GETTING UP FROM A KNOCK DOWN, last stand in death gorge and holding ground in that canyon and just gunning down silly over confident Lancers then mauling their Infantry buddies a second later. Anyways, EU siege event happening in around 50 minutes time. Feel free to drop on by and play!

Apparently we've been playing closed beta line battles with North And South, which is why getting a download link to .404 was incredibly hard and it isn't supported by whoever the hell is working on it now. Good news though, .404 is getting released this weekend. We might have to update again for next weeks one so watch this space. It'll be nice to play a proper 200 man N&S line battle again. Also, the Franco-Prussian War mod is coming out towards the end of this month or early June. And then there is the patch for NW. Also, we got two line battles tonight with possible Guns Of Icarus matches afterwards. EU line battle in 40 minutes time and the American line battle is at 9PM EST. Both are Napoleonic Wars.

Alright goons, N&S did a final update and released .404 to all the public instead of just those testing it with some line battles. This means everyone for one last time with North And South must do the update dance! Here are two links to the patch for .404 just extract and yes all to the N&S module folder [b]DO NOT USE THE UPDATER AT ALL OR EVER AGAIN. Hurray you have North And South all updated! .404 Update! Download me goons! .404 back up in case pubbies overwhelm the first link. There is also a new Installer with the recent .404 stuff for new players. Whoever is in charge of the dropbox can you remove the old version and put this and the .404 patch on it? thanks!

Good news and bad news. First the bad news. Both the EU line battle and Cops Monday Line Battle have been cancelled by the organizers. The good news though for Americans, Is I have already set us up with a new Monday line battle at the same time more or less with the same rules. As for the Monday EU one, I might look for another EU event on another day perhaps? Also, watch this neat North And South Line battle commentary video thing to ease the pain. And then come into Mumble before this NW line battle begins!

So I tooled around the mod casually TDMing some fellow pubbies and have come to the conclusion said mod is pretty drat polished for a first release of a one man mod based on a certain era. Bayonets are fixable and bad rear end looking. The ranges of the new rifles are pretty drat lethal, plus you can reload them on the move. Pistols for Officers seem a lot less smokey compared to North And South. Sappers now have Musketoons instead of axes. You can play as a Priest. The Krupp for the moment just loads and adjusts faster than the smooth bores. The long ranged explosions are pretty deadly. Despite the limited colour palette of blue/grey/green/black the regiments of each side each has quite a distinguished and independent look. The music is very patriotic for either sides now. A lot of the NW stuff is gone. Quite a few maps are urban battlefields. Sadly drummers have more or less been muscled out by Buglers but Standard bearers still exist in the specialist options. Also you can play as Napoleon III or Bismark. A first for any game really. God help the idiots who attempt a NW style line battle because rounds will be over in two minutes.

Yep, we got our line battle in 45 minutes! Goons will be line if we get over 120 on each side or Rifles if we just have around 80 in total. Password and all the other junk needed like always is in my Mumble profile. I'm looking into getting us an American Franco-Prussian War event for Wednesday night too. And Cop retired his siege event but I got us a replacement on the same day and time. Still need to find a replacement EU event for this week though!

Waited almost 10 minutes, only three of us showed which isn't enough. If this happens again next week I'm pulling us out of the EU siege event but keeping us to one NW and one Blood And Iron event a week. Due to these numbers and general EU interest I'm not even sure if I should look for a new EU event for the week. Thoughts? any at all?

Turn out and in general the event was quite good fun despite the small numbers at the start. We had some pretty bad rear end moments with bayonet charges and moving fire fights. For the first time ever we ran out of ammunition! Here are some bad rear end screenshots I took in 4th SAdraGoon related screenshot gallery. That turn out was awesome tonight. Thanks for showing up and having fun  .Tomorrow night is our North And South event.
