Xanatova Xanatova takes a step forward towards the front of the group when the Warpsmith finishes. Perhaps she could help make their lie more convincing. She makes the sign of the cog to the magos. "As my Lord Falthor says, we require specimens of every toxic lifeform on the planet. In Phyrr's case, since that adds up to every single catalogued organism native to the planet, I realise this is not a small request, but please understand that it is not made lightly. Though toxins that are effective against tyranids have been developed in the past, they have proven extremely adaptable. The unusual kinds of vesicle release inhibitors found on Phyrr have particular potential due to their lack of specificity, as well as because they are mechanically and structurally unrelated to any previous toxin deployed against a tyranid swarm."

The Magos stares at the group for a long while, as though pondering something before finally speaking, +The Phyrr biotoxins may be of great use against the Tyranids, though unknown at this time, we have not had a Tyranid life form to test on. Other major xenos have had mixed results. Eldar are immune, leading to theory that this planet is one of their garden worlds that was engineered to keep humans at bay. Orks become ill at first but quickly gain an immunity. Tau become violently Ill and die 18.239% of the time.+ The Magos floats over to a cogitator console and jacks in with a mechendrite before continuing, +Only issue with Phyrr biotoxins is they have been impossible to synthesize as of yet. Usually have to take flora and fauna samples, desiccate them, pulverize them into a fine powder, and administer that to test subjects. Potentially a relatively small amount could be weaponized for delivery to a Norn Queen ship, as opposed to the vast amounts to be used as a bio-warfare agent.+ a chime is heard from the cogitator console, +I am currently cataloging and compiling all of our data for delivery to the Deathwatch, but since it has been 174 days since it was last cataloged it shall take 97 hours 48 minutes and 50 seconds to recatalog and collate. We do not have enough samples to spare. Our own reserves are low. Our facility down below is dangerously understaffed due to losses. They claim something is hunting them out there, but deny it is the local wild life. However, I have given you access rights to the facility below. You may use it, it's resources, and very limited manpower to gather your own specimens while the data finishes cataloging for ease of use.+

Vincen "Ahem. Sir Magos, I am Dietrek, the science officer onboard the Kerrigan. The lack of available specimens was not unexpected, we detoured to collect laborers from a penal colony on our way here. Frankly, I'll be happy to be rid of them, if you are willing to hold onto them once we have what we need. It would reduce the strain on our enviro-systems and allow us to store the toxins more securely. I have set up holding cells in the expectation that we might need live specimens, unless you have data on how well the toxins maintain potency over a period of time? It would be easier if it doesn't need to be fresh, but one must deal with the realities of the universe rather than the hopes of man." Vincen's words are uttered in a near monotone as he makes the offer. He knew how the mechanicus acted, and a logical offer and inquiry would obtain more support than some kind of demand, especially after they had already agreed to help. Serpents Tongue to try and get Peer (Adeptus Mechanicus) for this scene, on a TN of 50. Fellowship of 50 and Charm + 10 and Deceive + 0 if any other tests are needed.

Boli "Hunted? He upon the Holy Throne protect us." Boli lets a quiver into his voice as he makes a quick sign of the Aquila. "Do we have enough combat void suits to send down an environmentally sealed security force? Are the collectors on the surface armed?"

+You misunderstand Priest, there are no more collectors on the surface. There are three convicts down there right now, the rest have died. We have been waiting for replacements, but our understanding is that some war or another has necessitated the raising of large numbers of Penal Legions, delaying a re-staffing.+ the magos then turns its attention to Vincen, +We would appreciate a resupply if you your employer were to release your cargo. It will not make the data collation and cataloging go any faster.+ Firesight got a 04 to get the Peer(mech-boys) but then proceeded to roll a 90 on his charm test.

As the Magos finishes responding to the offer for additional labor, and before he can negotiate with Pirre about price, a giant explosion shakes the room as alarm Klaxons begin to blare. A as of yet unseen compartment in the wall opens up revealing rebreathers. The Magos once again interfaces with the cogitator. He makes an electronic squelch that Xanatova and the warpsmith identify as panic before he speaks, +We are currently under attack by eldar warriors. They have breached the dome around the shrine and are also trying to breach the docking bay doors. It is unknown if they are Cabalite or Craftworld. Surely you will aid us?+ okay, eldar are attacking. Do you guys rush back to the shrine and help fight them, or do you take the opportunity to find what you guys need yourselves. Here is a map to remind you want you know, black bars are doors you've seen. Rebreathers can be taken for you folks without breathing systems. Atmosphere is not breathable, but habitable enough to not need void suits. Though if a breach of specimens occurs, the rebreathers might not be enough to help keep you safe. Please don't let this die folks

Vincent Vincent's head whips around as the klaxons start sounding. He draws his sword and heads in the direction of the docking bay with barely a backward yell of, "Kill xenos? Of course we'll help!" He snatches a rebreather off the wall and slides it on, tugging the straps to tighten the mask as he runs. As a Khornate, I'm all for killing stuff! Headed towards the closest breach.

Vincen "Xenos? Eldar? Oh dear, I wasn't prepared for this. Captain, what should we do?" Vincen looks imploringly towards Pierre, trying his best to not snicker behind the respirator he was already wearing as part of his disguise. The poor xenos had no idea what they had gotten themselves into.

Corvax If centuries of life had taught Corvax nothing else, it was that within every emergency is an opportunity. He switched on his suit's vox link, broadcasting solely on the Abominable Sovereign's vox frequency. +Anyone not involved in repelling the Eldar, search for anything of use. We'll hold them off.+ "Lord-Captain, the exuberance of your arch-militant had better not threaten Codex compliance. Brothers - with me." With that, Corvax started running toward the shrine and into the fray with the Eldar.

Boli Boli near dives towards the rebreathers while wishing he'd worn that sealed flak armour he'd 'borrowed' from the Blood Angels, and triggers his Microbead to the Sovreign's circuit, "Olivia. Tibur. Whoever. We have Eldar here. Status report." As he affixes the mask around his face he turns to the Magos. "Good Magos, I am no combatant, my sword is for religious purposes. Is there some place in which I should prepare to make my glorious last stand in his service?" Asking the Magos to show me where the important things are that I - as a devout believer in the Emperor - should willingly throw away my life to save. Deceive is at 70, though the "religious purposes" bit is technically true.

Hashim Given as there was a chance there weapons would register as heavily non-standard once they actually started being used, rather than just being seen, Hashim would have preferred taking advantage of the confusion and started killing the techpriests first, and then working their way into the Eldar, but the rest of the party seemed eager to get to grips with the xenos. He would, after all, rather be the one doing the backstabbing rather than the one being shot in the back. At least for now he'd follow Corvax though, while keeping an eye out for the techs starting to act suspicious. With that, he sprinted after Covax, priming the thrusters on the jump pack as he ran. And this is the second time it's helped to take Osmotic Gill. How you liking your uncovered head over there, Jolinaxas?

Follow the Guy in the Hood The Magos looks to the Impostor Seathwatch marines as well as Imposter Rogue Trader, +Very well, You go defend the breach in the shrine. I shall take your non-Marine comrades with me to our ops center, to marshal the defense of the station and to prepare a specimen and information purge in case we are overrun+ The magos leaves the room with his Praetorian servitor leading the way. All the heretics save Vincentfollow. They pass through a location they had not previously gone through. Based on the number of tech priests running around as well as stone sleeping slabs and hygiene facilities, this must be the housing facilities of the Mechanicus that man the base. As they make their way through, Boli gets a response on his Vox from Tibur, "Yer tellin' us? Dey got a ship up here we's engaged wiff. Dey sending a good deal of landing craft yer way, prepare for trouble!" The comms abruptly cut out. Based on the lack of static, they can only assume the eldar are jamming communications. They are then led back into a hallway they previously passed though. They hear an explosion in the direction of the shrine as they head straight through a door and into what must be the ops center. The Praetorian remains outside as the rest enter. Two red guard are at the door, but let the Magos and his visitors in. The room has about ten tech priests manning various cogitator stations. The Magos begins to bark out orders. +Mu-78 begin the specimen destruction procedure. Victor-18 begin a Breech protocol 87.+ a tech priest who must be Victor-18 nods, heading through a door on the right. Xanatova is more than familiar with what a Breech Protocol 87 is. That involves arming melta charges on the cogitator banks and then slagging them all if it seems loss of the facility and data seems imminent. Red line is the non-marine path and star is current location. A big beautiful star As the more vulnerable flee, The four Traitor Marines and Vincent head to the Shrine. FLINT takes the lead, and charges head on into the shrine. When a horde of Dark Eldar Kabalite warriors greet him, he doesn't slow. The Kabalites rain fire upon him; one lucky shot hits his backpack plasma supply, and ruptures it. FLINT goes up like a small sun, the bring flash blinding the Eldar long enough to allow his allies to get into position. When the light clears, an Eldar can be seen standing on the Dais from which sermons are to be delivered, while four more eldar are ground in front of it. The eldar points at the huddled marines and renegade and speaks his tongue. Here is initiative order: incubi Vincent Haemonculus The Warpsmith Corvax mandrakes Hashim

Xanatova Xanatova makes an effort not to wince when the magos calls for breach protocol 87. She focuses her mind on pointing this out to her fellow heretics, taking care to not let the side-effects of psychic activity become noticeable to the tech-priests. The stricter control limits who she can contact without just screaming the message into the mind of everyone in the facility, but she gets through to the Warpsmith, Corvax, Boli and Pierre. "They've started preparing for the data and specimen purge the magos mentioned. Standard procedure, but if things look bad over there tell us so we can intervene before the things we're here for encounter a melta charge." Manifesting Thought Sending to let the marines know that they should tell us if things look bad so we can stop the tech-priests from blowing up the place and Boli and Pierre to let them know they should be ready to shank the tech-priests if the marines say things look bad.

Boli They have a protocol to destroy the information in the station to stop it from falling into the hands of the Eldar, who a few minutes ago they were suggesting might be responsible for creating the drat stuff in the first place. Once more, Boli curses the idiotic and obsessive secrecy of the Imperium. Collecting himself, he looks around the room at the various tech priests present, trying to weigh up his chances of even damaging them with his sword and whether he can decode what their various stations say. He decides to share the information he has, just to keep up the pretence of being a loyal citizen. "Magos, our ship reported the presence of an Eldar vessel deploying landing craft." Maybe it would divert some of them to other tasks. Two questions: 1) Are these guys massively modified mostly metal chaps like I assume the Magos is, or is there still enough skin present that I can shank them? 2) Can I read what they're working on, or is it all in incomprehensible binary nonsense? I have Logic, SL (cryptography) and trade (cryptographer) at 52, and Polyglot to help me decipher any simple obfuscation.

The Warpsmith Falthor winces as Flint is the first in and the first to be incinerated. He didn't much care for plasma weapons, they were wildly inaccurate and dangerous, but they got their job done. Control Room: Looking around the room, the few tech-acolytes there seem to be in the early stages of Conversion to Perfect Flesh, with minor limb replacement and nearly new utility Mechendrites. The two "Crimson Guard" did not look like the hulking Praetorian outside the door, but more akin to two regular guardsmen, though it was easy to tell they were heavily modified. The Shrine The Kabalite Warriors know who the real threats are. They unleash a torrent of fire at Corvax and Hashim but the two marines' quick reflexes allow them to duck and avoid the incoming splinter fire. However, while they are distracted, the two Incubi look at each other, nod silently, and move with preternatural speed at the two marines. Their blades are a fury of movement, and the two marines feel gashes open in their flesh before they even see the blades inflict the strikes. Vincent charges at the mandrake and strikes out at the ghostly xenos. However, even given his best effort, the mandrake easily parries the first blow as well as the second, but as he does so, the Duelist's power sword sunders the Mandrake's xenos sickle. The creature's eyes flare at the human. The Haemonclus fires a pistol of some sort at Vincent, but he misses. The Warpsmith levels his bolter at the other mandrake and fires a perfect three shot volley. The Mandrake effortlessly dodges all of the "slow" bolter shells, even going so far as the jump over the last one and land with a flourish. Okay, going to do a slight pause to give Corvax and Hashim a chance to change their actions if they want since the Incubi have charged them. The others feel free to post your actions for next turn too if you want. Map will come after this turn/next turn are resolved, it hasn't changed much. Blood Dome Corvax attempts a Feint at the Incubus, going low and quickly sweeping up, but the Incubus sees through the Marine's pitiful attempt at misdirection, and actually laughs at the Marine like one does at a child doing something silly, as he easily parries the blow. Meanwhile, the first Mandrake, without his weapon, slowly fades in front of Vincent and dashes to the north, past the Kabalite warriors and into the facility beyond. As he does that the other mandrake attempts to flank the duelist, charging at him and swinging his blade in a flurry of blows, but the mandrake is sloppy and his moves are easy to telegraph. On the first parry his weapon also shatters on the power field of Vincent's Power sword. Angered that the Incubus charged into him, Hashim swings out with a powerful blow; if the work of the Incubi and Vincent were elegant sword-play, Hashim's blow is akin to a destructive force of nature. His weapon easily deflects aside the Incubus' attempt to parry it and carves a huge gash down the torso of the xenos. As the blood splatters across Hashim, he begins to be overtaken by a Red Rage that would make a Blood Angel envious. The Warriors open up fire on the marines again, but afraid to hit the Incubi, most of those splinters go wide, the few that find their mark either bounce off the ceramite of Corvax and Hashim or their meta-human bodies absorb the blows. It was now time for the Incubi to try and again prove the mettle. The Incubi engaging Corvax proves to be as inept as his opponent; he tries to show the Mon-Keigh how to truly feint, but his attempt is as transparent as Corvax's was, and is easily parried. The Incubus engaging Hashim begins a flourish of attacks against the Marine. The first is easily parried, but the other two are too fast for even the marine to follow; two slices across his torso by the alien weapon surprise the marine. Suddenly unable to catch his breath, Hashim collapses on the floor trying to catch his breath. Okay did another turn and a half, Vincent is up. Boli Boli turns from the screen and paces away, running his hands through his thin hair and triggering his microbead in the process. He spins around to look at Pierre, "Captain, what do we do?" Looking at Pierre, talking to Corvax.

Corvax Hearing Boli's request for orders, Corvax replied though his armor's vox-link. "The time for subterfuge is over. Unless you estimate that it is truly impossible, murder them all and take everything of value. You have the element of surprise. If we have to go planetside to get the mission data, we will."

It's Worse A wicked smile crosses Vincent's face as he prepares to deliver the finishing blow to the remaining Mandrake. A furry of blows rain down at the Mandrake, but to the xeno's credit he bobs and weaves each and every single attack that the duelist makes, it's eyes flashing vibrantly as the last blow impacts the floor. (seriously, you rolled a 1, only for the mandrake to roll a 5, and thanks to unnatural agility get enough DoS to dodge all your hits.) The Mandrake screams out at Vincent even though it lacks a mouth, and lunges at him, trying to grab around his waist, but Vincent easily slaps him aside. The Haemonculus has a look of anger cross his face, which quickly turns to a foreboding look of curiosity. He Seems to quickly talk into a microbead on his shoulder before taking a half-hazzard shot at Vincent that misses. Within a few seconds the sounds of anti-grav thrusters is heard overhead, followed by a giant crashing as a large hulking creature comes crashing through the dome above. The creature's masked face looks at the Haemonculus, who points his pistol at Vincent and smiles. The Warpsmith takes aim at the horde with his bolter and fires. Most of the three shots go wide, but one hits something in the horde, for all the good it would do. Meanwhile, Corvax strikes out with The Void Harvester. He makes a jab at the Eldar's torso, and as it brings it's Klaive up to parry the blow Corvax unexpectedly brings the blade down, slicing into the Eldar's upper thigh. A wet *Flop* is heard as a large chunk of the Incubus's upper thigh is cleanly lopped off and falls on the floor, like so much meat. The wounded Incubus, still silent despite the blow, lashes out at Corvax but is easily parried. Meanwhile Hashim looks down at the pool of his own blood. He places his hand in it and mutters a prayer to Khorne under his breath, a promise to deliver the skull of the Incubus to Khorne in exchange for power. The void pirate feels a wave of rage and spite fill him as he rubs his own blood over his helmet. He struggles to his knees and strikes out at the Incubus, but it easily parries the messy shot. As Hashim struggles to his feet the Incubus takes aim with his blade, but somehow misses the Khornate. The cabalite warriors prove their continued ineptness and fail to hit anyone with their shots. Control Room The Magos turns to Pierre, +Once the explosives are finished being primed in the next room, then this button will turn from yellow to red and I need only press it+ The magos indicates a large yellow-lighted button near his hand. As the Grotesque drops from the skylight, the Magos points at the two Crimson Guard +Take the Pretorian, give the astarties aid, focus on that mass of eldar first.+ The Crimson Guard silently nod their heads and exit the room. Those in the control room see the three head down the hall towards the shrine on the video feeds. Okay, Hashim is standing now because why not. Wasn't going to wait on dyne, so hand waived him shooting the horde. A wild Grotesque enters the battlefield. Apparently the Haemonculus thinks Vincent is a worthy specimen to test his little creature on. It's turn was spent on it's awesome entrance. Boli "What in the name of the seven holy shrines of shrine world Lepidoptera is that?" Advancing to the Magos' side, eyes fixed on the screens in front of him, Boli's fingers drum nervously on the hilt of his sword. Hopefully the techpriest will think he's concerned about the monstrosity assaulting his shipmates, rather than the fact he's not sure exactly how quickly a techpriest so heavily augmented can move. Vincent Vincent pays no attention to the speculative fire from the haemonculus and starts to press the attack again. He thrusts, spins, and then pulls up as the grotesque bursts through the dome and turns to Vincent with obvious malice. A rapid turn of events: Corvax and Hashim almost simultaneously eliminate their respective Incubus. Corvax puts all his focus into a slash at the Incubus's head, as it raises it's blade to block, Corvax withdraws the blade, bulling his arm back and then effortlessly jabs it into the chest of the xenos bodyguard. It easily pierces the armor and sinks through the sternum and easily severs the spine. The creature falls to it's knees, klaive clattering by its side. Corvax does nothing, letting the blade move with the creature's fall. He relishes the sight of the xenos death, waiting for it to slowly fall off his blade. Hashim explodes in a rage, bringing his blade down upon the dark eldar. His spite and rage is pure, and unable to be stopped. The incubus brings up his blade to block, but the force behind Hashim's blow just knocks away the klaive. It continues down, sinking into the left shoulder of the Incubus. The crunch of bone is heard and the smell of burning bone marrow and flesh is smelled as the power blade makes its way through the creature's torso snapping ribs and puncturing lungs. The blade finally exits through the xeno's right pelvis, chopping off the lower portion of the creature's right arm in the process. The two pieces of the xenos splay before Hashim, it's blood mixing with is spilled blood on the floor. The Grotesque howls, and charges at Vincent. He is barely able to raise his sword, but he manages to block the creature's hammer blow. With the Grotesque breathing down his neck, Vincent knows he has to get this Mandrake off his back before the big hurt comes. He jabs out with his power sword, giving a few short thrusts and a slash, and the Mandrake, starting to get worn down, is unable to coyly dodge the blows as he had in the past. The last blow sears the xenos arm, the burnt smell of flesh in the air. The Mandrake again tries to tackle Vincent, but the last attack too much out of him, and it was a half effort. Okay, those Incubi got stomped quick. Lordkoth even got a ZH on his target. The Crimson guard and praetorian will enter the battle next turn. Okay, I wasn't going to roll that as a battle with the Crimson Guard gone, just you guys killed folks.
