I remember the first kill on the show where he kills the child molester. It just set a really dark tone for the show and that's what drew me into the show plus it was on Netflix at the time. Now it's just a show that I watch out of habit plus the time I invested into it.

This just showed up on my Facebook feed:The Psychology of Dexter posted:Millions of us are fascinated by unlikely hero Dexter Morgan—a character who constantly makes us question what being “normal” really means. What makes Dexter tick? And what makes a show about a serial killer so appealing to those of us at home? I wonder if it includes an essay on the significance of Chicky Hines.

Without Chicky Hines there is no season 3-8. He is the most significant character.

One day left! Megapost inbound. #Dexter Fans: Scott Reynolds (@jscottamy) and @Aimee_Garcia will be live tweeting during Sunday's season premiere (east coast feed)! Inevitable Will Graham references, a new Episode 1 clip; Psychopath Whisperer. No spoilers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEAaxYM0Q6s Exec Scott Buck discusses the Season 7 finale: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TAPYiDoybY Hall interview: http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/06/27/michael-c-hall-dexter-interview/ Do you have any compulsions that help you relate to the character? "[Pause] I’d acknowledge that they exist, but I wouldn’t [reveal] them." "One thing I’ve always felt is the character needn’t be bound by his voice-over. I’ve always thought that he wasn’t the most reliable narrator. There might be some voice-over beyond the voice-over that we don’t hear." "But something that’s always existed in him is an appetite for rebellion. So if he’s told he can’t be somebody, he’s going to want to defy that diagnosis — to his and many people in his world’s peril." Certainly explains his violent response to "You can't be a killer and a hero, it doesn't work that way." aaaaaaaaaa No seriously. You will get spoiled on this. I read the entire drat thing. quote:i always feel better after reading interviews with Sara Colleton http://www.dexterdaily.com/2013/06/executive-producer-sara-colletonits.html "We did something very unusual that we've never done before. After the scene was essentially finished, we let the cameras roll. And it was in that moment that Debra runs to Laguerta, that was not scripted. To me that was the most overpowering moment. Difficult to watch." Can and should Deb and Dexter both survive? That's such a loaded question, yes they both should survive but we have a very involved season ahead of us so it's not something to anticipate at this moment. I had wondered actually, specifically, when they knew exactly how they would end it.... How long have you know what the final scene is? Have you written it? For two years. [Showrunner] Scott Buck and [EP] Manny Coto are writing that last script. We have it all beaten out and we know what it's going to be and we've known it for a long time. Hopefully it will be satisfying and give some people something to think about with this eight-year journey Dexter has taken and what he's explored and what he's tried to do and what he's tried to become. Hopefully it will resonate with some insight for our audience. We all know that no matter what we do there are going to be a lot of people who are unhappy with it. We're trying to not think about that and just think of what everyone who has been on the show from the beginning feels is right and that's all we can do. No matter what we do we'll still be excoriated. Article also goes into more detail about what Dr Vogel will be doing this season. We get a mention of the Brain Surgeon. Also in that artcle; "We've given up the idea of the big bad as a character." It's as if they can read my mind! They finally did it! NO MORE BIG BAD THIS SEASON More spoilers: http://www.dexterdaily.com/2013/06/dexter-season-8-spoilers-dexters-origin.html You can tell that one is good too, because it opens with "PTSD is no party." Well.. it's true. And from what I can tell, Carpenter (Deb) does a lot of adlibbing this season? Really explains the fantastic powerhouse performance we can get glimpses of in the trailers.. drat. She's so good! She better keep getting work.. http://www.dexterdaily.com/2013/06/jennifer-carpenter-i-feel-like-this.html Also really neat, ranking Dexter's Big Bads: http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/cultist/2013/06/dexters_villains_ranking_the_s.php To tidy up the post, a seasons 1-through-7 spoiler-free walkthrough of Dexter, Brian, his past, his choices, etc. http://www.dexterdaily.com/2013/06/dexter-seasons-1-7-review-by-emily.html Paradox Personified fucked around with this message at 16:10 on Jun 29, 2013 |

Quinn was actually killed by the mobsters last season and the reason he looks so gaunt and skeletal is because he's a ghost. They're going to have him in strange scenes where he only interacts with Dexter, and is ignored by waitresses, and we're going to figure it out 7 episodes before they reveal his corpse in the basement of a church.

Wasn't he kind of paunchy the first time we saw him? Like not huge, just... very slightly chubby? I don't remember It blows my mind that he's been in 5 seasons and he's been such an inconsequential character. With that in mind, let's try to come up with our top 5 Quinn moments. 1. Getting high with Batista and solving a case. 2. This is harder than I thought.

I still love this show even if it has gotten rather stupid at times and you could basically skip from like all of season 5 and 6 and not miss a beat. It helps that the dude who plays Dexter is just... so loving good at playing Dexter. I couldn't imagine anyone else edit: I will say the biggest disappointment last season however, was that Issac was just killed and the end that was it for his plotline.
