I just moved to Richmond from NOVA, but I'm still up in the DC area quite frequently.

I no longer work for Brooks' Cycles in Chantilly, but I can still fix things.
If you need something fixed or replaced immediately, I still highly recommend going to them. Their techs are proficient and the shop overall is excellent.

I'm out of action with trips and people visiting until the third weekend in September or so but I'm always down for weekday and night stuff.

Except for the fact that you're going to get rained on that sounds like it should be a great ride.

I ended up riding around Sugarloaf Mountain and Lake Seneca yesterday. There are some pretty fun roads out there and more cyclists than cars. Met a dude on a Shiver and ended up riding with him for about an hour. All in all it was a pretty good day to be riding.

Here's a crappy video of a creek crossing near Lake Seneca:

We were thinking Sunday or Monday of this upcoming weekend. Sunday is much better for me but we didn't have a concrete day yet. Hopefully the weather is nice and the cops aren't writing too many tickets :cop:

My plan is to gently caress off early Sunday morning (Monday as the back update in case of bad weather)and do around 400 miles, I'll be happy to accommodate anyone that comes but I would suggest picking up something comfy for your seat. Gonna be up in the mountains for most of the time, VA and WV mixed up.

I already took my bike in but I still need to manually clean my carbs and install the jet kit I got laying around. If there's one thing I learned from seeing all the bikes there is that I probably put way too many mods on my bike.

Kinda glad I chickened out. Although I dont mind riding in the rain, I'd rather avoid it. I'm afraid my bike would explode after I installed some projectors. I also dont have the wrist strength for a longer ride so I would probably need to get some type of throttle lock.

If you want to give your wrists some relief, a few folks have this: http://www.amazon.com/Crampbuster-CB2-CrampBuster-Wide/dp/B000GZPH2U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378392634&sr=8-1&keywords=cramp+buster

I purchased one but haven't tried it out yet. The people who have it seem to really like it. Also, you should buy some rain gear - we have had rain every single ride over 1 hour long :argh:

If you're early, take 193 to Georgetown and meet at Exxon. You'll double back a few miles with the group into Great Falls for the cars & coffee. Otherwise, just head straight to Great Falls and meet them there.

Haha, that's a $50,000 a year private girl's school - Foxcroft. My parents had a bed and breakfast in The Plains and I spent one Christmas break chauffeuring a mother of one of the students to the school and back a couple times a week. It was a fun drive but I don't think the mother enjoyed it much. Also, her 12 or 13 year old daughter would hit on me whenever I drove her - it was super awkward.

I can't think of anything less fun on a motorcycle than a ride like that, but the biker in me wants to run it anyway just out of spite over the denied permit.

(The fact that it seems to have grown up as some sort of jingoistic backlash to an earlier "million muslim march" thing makes me less inclined to go overheat the Warrior.)
