But I liked how Groundhog day was essentially a hell for Williams until he understood and tried to make things better. Hell the movie pretty much explained he can't do everything he wants like save the hobo from dying. That he should try to do the best he can, but also not beat himself over things out of his control.

It wasn't necessarily a perfect ending, but it was the best he could try to make of a situation.
