Maniac Synth posted yet? It's a pretty fantastic Youtube channel and fits the thread genre perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx0aeds7e5Q And a cool blog in celebration of vintage Calculator Watches, the most cyperpunk of fashion accesories. Includes archaic-futurist tech like gaming watches, voice transmitter watches and loving television watches. Hard to believe some of these aren't props from 80's sci fi but were actual mass produced consumer electronics: http://pocketcalculatorshow.com/nerdwatch/

Hummingbirds posted:How was it? See Com Truise live, if you can! He's the future of DJ performances, with music that sounds like it's from the past. I was absolutely floored by how hard he had Brighton Music Hall rocking. I was expecting mostly chill *beep-boop* music. Was not expecting him to go across every electronic genre from melodic house to drumstepy synth bass music... I don't even know. He had an APC40 MK2, what looked like an MPK mini and some pad drum machine. I feel like half his samples were made before hand and the other half were done up on the fly and launched into whatever beat was going on. He did some DJ style mixing and some live drumming/pianoing over pre-made beats/samples. He's definitely ahead of the curve in using a live production environment as opposed to the usual 4 deck and mixer, club style, DJ setup. Relatively similar to this, but with newer equipment (I think.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWT-1_wkWtU Might not be your thing if you're more into turntableism or big-room shows. He literally just stood there focused on workflow. No hand raising or phony knob twisting. Unless you've been exposed to VST, there's really not much to see, hence: not for everyone. liquorlanche has a new favorite as of 15:00 on Oct 31, 2014 |

M.Ciaster posted:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L00wacOr7ck Thank you for this. I usually listen to Pandora for my electronic fix, but it doesn't quite fit the bill for new retro wave. I played Hotline Miami, so I know some of MOON's work, but this song in particular has kept me grooving all loving day.

Here's a track I made Friday night. I'm influenced by many who have been mentioned here. I'm using keyboards and effects from the 80s, and sequencing on a hardware sequencer, so besides a little mastering on a PC (overall EQ/compression) it could have been made in the late 80s/early 90s. All mixing is done on an actual board recording the stereo output. I like the limitations of keeping with true to the era. https://soundcloud.com/fors_yard/autovivid

Drift Stage is a game (still in alpha) that's all about Fast Nightdriving and Being Neon as gently caress. The music is being handled by a guy called Myrone, and is more in rock-oriented and in tune with the style of 80's/90's arcade racers than the more electronic stuff I've seen in this thread. It rules. I'm afraid to listen to this in the car because of how fast it might make me go. Drift Stage Main Theme Heating Up
