I loved Bradon's story but I also think Kate and Dom got robbed. Helen was WAY TOO lucky to have immunity because that was a poo poo garment. Not that Ms. Midriff Exmilitary was any better. They're both on borrowed time.

What a clusterfuck. And I see next week is ANOTHER unconventional materials challenge?! :smithicide:

I thought that Karen's outfit was way worse than Jeremy's - what the hell was going on with her pants? They looked bunched up and sagging on the top. Why hasn't she been in the bottom yet?

Miranda needs to go. "Because of my military background and aesthetic, I decided to make this cropped top and pencil skirt for this bow tie/parachute/diamonds challenge."

Oh! I remembered the other thing. Yes, Miranda's was garbage but what got me was the fact that Heidi was fussing over the lining of the jacket that "we'll never see" when I remember designers in past seasons get so much praise for including a lining (that we'll never see).

Those other designers were turning out good work with time to spare; Miranda could have spent that time fixing the problems she herself acknowledged in her look.

I honestly believe that Dom was robbed last night. That cocktail dress was really cute and Dom has a great eye for styling. Bradon's outfit was fine, but the material he used to make the jacket and shorts just seemed too heavy for the top and looks kinda itchy.

Hispter Bettie Page just needs to go, because all she does is make crop tops and she's not even good at it.

and this deserves a second look:

Dom

Clear winner. The color combination was so nicely done. The hem was the right length, great construction.

Kate

Look's like Michelle's aesthetic from last season. The colors and inspiration of "the huntress"

Alexandria

Ken

hooker

Karen

Bottom
Miranda

Not only is it the same design, the shirt looks awful. Like it was at a regular length but then pinned under at the last minute (I'm not kidding I wrote that before I saw the episode)

Jeremy

This was alright. Not good, but not terrible.

Sue / Scary Bradshaw

Oh, right… the bow ties… I'll just make a 5-point harness out of them and call it good

OUT Sanrdo

Good riddance.

Agreed. The cleavage praise was really bad as the model had none, and might as well have been wearing pasties. Or emptied Yoplait pots. That, along with the gratuitous clumsy hawking of their sponsors and Ken's attempt to be the littlest pimp made for a grating episode. Bradon really should have won again, at the moment there's no-one close to him.

Not Dom? She's done some of the most notable work this season so far. (She was lucky to be in the middle this week though.) A couple of Bradon's looks have been just okay; I don't think he deserves to have two wins under his belt by any measure.

Dom's was good, the spiked wall paper dress looked like it would work as catwalk fashion (in a different material) but the dress that Bradon came out with was simply more interesting and attractive to me. Plus it felt more complete a piece. Dom's was all about the top half. If there had been just a little something below the belt that kept her sculptural idea flowing then that could have put her top in my eyes. And that's kind of what I've been seeing from her so far. Strong ideas with something missing to complete it. Dom and Bradon should certainly be finalists though.

I also thought the first group was way better. Jeremy's dress was great, but the team as a whole should have gotten a much lower score owing to the fact that Karen's dress looked like 4th grader cosplaying an extra in the Nightmare Before Christmas.

Guys I really hate Karen.

I don't think Justin has the chops to win the whole thing, but I am glad that Tim Gunn used his Tim Gunn Save to Tim Gunn Save Justin if for not other reason than we won't have to hear about the Tim Gunn Save every episode

Tim Gunn is my favorite part of this show, but listening to Heidi hamfistedly talk about the Tim Gunn Save before each runway was almost painful.

Kate

lacquered Pregnancy dress???

Bradon

She looks pregnant with a melted box of crayons. How this wasn't in the bottom, I do not know

Karen made something I like… this is disturbing me. The styling is awful though

Yeah, I thought Karen's was spectacularly bad, and didn't get Kate's at all. That said, aside from Kate not being in bottom 3 this was still probably the most I've been overall in agreement with the judges all season. Also thought Alexandra's was top 3 but not winning, but that's not a big deal.

Agreed on all points here - Kate sliding out of the bottom 3 and Ken being in there really surprised me, although it really shouldn't have with how much confessional time Ken was getting. Kinda glad the Tim Gunn save's off the table for the rest of the season now, it being announced meant that it would have to be used or people would be upset, and I feel like there aren't that many times something like that's justified. I don't think Justin's going all the way to fashion week, but he seemed like a really nice guy and I'm glad he'll be around longer.

Hooo boy! Quite the turn about tonight, except for poor Miranda. We're down to 10 and that means that "not terrible" will get you out. Hey, she outlasted Unicorn by many weeks.

That brings me to...
:toot: FASHION WEEK
Fashion week starts Thursday Sept 5, the Project Runway show will be Friday morning. This means that they have time for one more elimination to bring the total number showing to 9. Remember that according to the show, only 3 show at fashion week, so we will also be seeing 6 "decoy collections." Last year the actual show did not include the designers coming out before each collection and no name was assigned to any collection. The speeches seen on TV were prerecorded without an audience.

For this reason, I would reason that showing the fashion week collections here would not constitute a spoiler since it would all be speculation over who did what. Of course, I leave it to the mods to decide for sure. In the mean time, spoiler tag that poo poo!

Pictures of tonight's shoe-gasim will be up tomorrow for the normal coal raking.
